ABSOLUTELY SPEECHLESS These guests arrived on a 5 nights for the price of 4 offer and received on arrival my handmade complimentary Ice Cream, which is not something we usually offer to our guests. Each morning i would speak to the guests at length and we would all have a real laugh and good chats. All went well during their stay, and upon departure, they stated that they had thoroughly enjoyed their stay.No mention was made about anything commented upon in their review.. They stressed when they arrived that one of them had been ill and this was why we had given them the complimentary ice cream. Imagine our shock when we subsequently read a bad review some days later. We telephoned the guests to discuss, as they had also taken photographs of private areas of the property, which is also our home. and posted them on the internet. After a couple of days, the review disappeared, and we assumed they had seen sense, and removed it. We were even more upset to see a different review appear about a month later, which is basically saying damning things about the accommodation, and stating that we should be shut down. This is all based upon a lack of bath robes, a statement made about the mini-bar and no bath towels. In ten years, no nobody has even passed comment about the mini-bars, and the guests were definately provided with bath towels. They only had to ask if we had forgotten to provide them with bath robes. Are these matters, grounds to shut down a five star establishment? Anyone reading this review will probably think that it is way over the top, and totally unreasonable. They have given us the lowest marks(one out of five) in all categories. Why did they say that the accommodation was lovely, and the breakfasts superb! Unfortunately, people posting reviews like this can put people out of business, particularly small on. When we spoke at the telephone, the guests even argued about the rates they had been charged on their discounted offer. Finally, they had to agree thay they had not been overcharged. They were indeed given complimentary water. This is provided in the room upon arrival, but they subsequently drank all the glass bottles in the mini-bar each day, and this is not provided free of charge. I don't think it is anywhere. We have to pay for our bottled water, and this obviously has to be passed on to guests. We are still at a loss to know why this review has been posted, and secondly, in such an unpleasant way.
