We were so surprised that most of Southern Italy was virtually a ghost town the first week of April. The weather was ideal, 65-75 and sun. The tragedy here is that this lovely little B&B was not full up with a waiting list. We had the place mostly to ourselves! (As well as a number of great museums and restaurants.) Villa Sofia is the perfect basecamp for your adventures in Tropea and Pizzo. They don't make B&Bs any nicer than this one. We had a second floor room with large balcony. Very comfortable bed, TV, refrigerator, great bath and wonderful breakfast. The fresh orange juice and coffee in the mornings may have been one of the best features right after the smiles and warm hospitality from the staff.

I had seen pictures online and had some misgivings. I thought the pictures of the rooms looked rather spartan. They actually feel quite warm. This 4 year old building has many nice details which give it a lot of warmth and charm with a modern twist. The rooms are not huge but there is a lot of storage space to unpack and settle in. The bathrooms are immaculate and beautiful. Lots of shelf space and 2 mirror areas.

There is easy street parking around the building and several restaurants within easy walking. The town is a nice relief from the tangled streets of Tropea. Navigation in and out of the town can be tricky but you can't navigate anywhere in Italy without Siri. She will take you right to the door.

Only complaint would be that there are no English television stations available. The wifi is good but not quite fast enough to watch television on the computer. In general, it is a stellar find and would be a bargain at twice the price. Get there before the hoards discover it.

At first, we wanted to stay in Tropea, but my intuition told me to look beeter for a smaller village in the area. Parghelia was the right choice. 3 km from Tropea and quiet. The B&B is very nice, very clean and the family who runs it is always there to help you. Bathroom was very big. I had a single room. My bed was a bit too narrow for my taste, but very good quality. The room had a huge terrace. Without a view lol but hey, most of the time I was out anyway. The breakfast was great. You have it on the terrace and you can see the sea. Lots of fruit, even from their own garden like figues. And it was quiet in the night. Internet works fine.

We are family of three travelling around Italy. We have found this amazing place by chance when one of the hotels on our route we've booked did not reflect the image from booking.com and did not meet our expectations. We were forced to look for an accomodation quickly and we found this amazing place.
It's just 5 min. walking distance from the local, lovely beach (emerald water, no crowds).
We got the room with the terrace. Very comfortable place. The bedding is very clean and fresh .We got royal breakfast that included fresh pastry and seasonal fruits from the
owner's garden plus vast choice of other delicious products and great, professionally prepared Italian coffeee. The owners are charming and helpful with suggestions which
places to visit. The villa is located in a small town with a few good and cheap places to
eat.
I highly reccomand this place for everyone who had lost hope for a great and quiet vacation in Italy.
The reality is much better than the pictures of this place show!
Enjoy as we did!

We were welcomed the moment we arrived. Throughout our stay Maria and Clara were considerate in every way. The room and ensuite were spacious and immaculately cleaned every day. We had our own private balcony where we could sit and relax without feeling enclosed in the room. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. This is a first class B&B in every way and we would certainly recommend it to others
