Great apartment. Plenty of space. Huge terrace with sun loungers. Nice pool. Very clean. Decor a bit 70s. Don't expect posh but very good budget accommodation.
We would definitely return.
Very laid back.
No reception, no form of contact other than the cleaning lady. No hot water some days, no indication of where to pick the key up. No we could not Find Felipe! And we were not alone.
There is one redeeming feature about these outdated apartments - the pool. It is as the picture depicts clean; however there is absolutely nothing to bring me anywhere near here in future.
Whoever gave these anything like good rating must have been in either of the TWO apts in the picture. The others are behind and enclosed starring on to each other from 5m away as you open your only door and look directly into your neighbours rooms (and visa versa).
We could not Find Felipe to complain about the hole in the bedroom floor. Smashed glazed tiles that would lacerate a foot in the dark. We had to put blankets over the area. The cleaner thought it was not good either but so it remains for the rest of the summer because this outfit really do not give a damn.
The shower kept falling off, despite the wall being riddled with enough plas plug screw holes to sink a battleship. But we could not Find Felipe.
The dining table must have come from a local tip, the chipboard was dripping off the edges. Not nice when having a cup of tea. The tea by the way was boiled from a pan on a two ringed stove. No kettle, as confirmed by the cleaner, No Felipe to get one.
The customer care is epitomised in the bedroom, a plug each side of the bed. No side lamp just a ceiling light. No Felipe. No working Wifi (chargagable) No Felipe.
If you are contemplating a holiday break here, by all means read the better ratings but if you do not get the one of the two favoured rooms (out of 20 ish ) and you manage to find your key you never know you may find Felipe too. But then...
We visited these apartments in August / September myself and two teenagers .
When we arrived our door didn’t lock so meant that I had to wedge two chairs up against door to try make it secure until morning .
As you can imagine we didn’t get much sleep and also my son hadn’t been left a sheet to put on the sofa bed .
We saw the son of the owner in the morning doing the pool . By now we’d also found we had hole in floor and wardrobe door that was left ( only one) was about to fall off. He wasn’t happy that I was annoyed that the door lock was broken and my son had slept in a room that was not secure . He tried to say nothing was broken but obviously was as he then put a knee barrel in door and new bolts too . He also tried to fix wardrobe door without much luck . He came across as if you was putting him out .
After this we thought our holiday could begin . The pool was gd and clean and at times you had it to yourselves .
There was a very good supermarket just behind us called SUMA . Sold everything and had fresh bakery for fresh baguettes warm and fresh each morning . Ladies were lovely in there .
Unfortunately another issue arose . Stinking smell of sewage and mess on our toilet . This occurred at Weekend . I called the contact numbers and even emailed the Son of the owner but no response . In the end I called my travel agent who recommended calling Triton . I’m still waiting for a response . Instead we had to put rolled up dirty towels under gap of the bathroom door to stop rest of the apartment from smelling . The smell made you feel ill it was that bad . Later on that day the son came to apartments . When I told him what was wrong he went absolutely mad saying he wouldn’t help us throwing he’s arms up in the air and being rather intimidating in front of myself , my daughter and people in apartment opposite. Nothing got done we just had to make do . Wasn’t good at all .
So the question would I go back ?? To these apartments probably no but the resort most definetly . We met some lovely people who also said there were issues within their apartments .
It’s a great shame as these apartments could be good as they have great potential . Not far from the main resturants etc , play areas for children - go karting etc .
All I say is beware if you come on your own with children . And beware of apartment 14 .
The Don Felipe are a small complex of apartments ideally situated for bars, restaurants and beaches. The pool was rarely crowded and at times deserted so it felt like your own pool.
Both of these factors are positives but there were two major negatives that let this block of apartments down.
The first is the lack of air conditioning, which at times at night made it very uncomfortable.
The second was the bathroom which was in urgent need of refurbishment, as the window looked like it was ready to fall out at any time!
Get these two negatives sorted and the Don Felipe could be a hidden gem in the delight that was Cala D'or.
Despite being dropped off at 3am in the morning by a grumpy transfer driver we found the apartments easily. Due to no lights it took us a while to found our apartment. It was clean but could use a little updating especially the bathroom.
There is a supermarket close by so no need to use the Spar stores that are dotted about Cala D'or.
The pool was like having a private pool as many of the guest choose go to one of the three beaches within a ten minute walk.
