Very disappointed in this hotel. Their website advertised a pool and a hot breakfast. No where did it say anything about the pool being closes due to covid or the hot breakfast being a "grab and go" it was all cold food and some premade sandwich that was dry and tasteless. I asked for a refund before I even stayed in the room after finding out that everything was closed and I was paying the same price for all the extra amenities, they wouldn't give me a refund even though their website is false advertising and the front desk receptionist called the manager, and came back to and told me I should have called to ask.. Well update your website. SECOND the room wasn't very clean the couch had stains and hair all over it. There was a blood stain on the wall in the bathroom and hair in the corners, our mattress had blood stains on it and the carpet was all stained up. In the morning I went to make coffee and opened up the pot and it still have a coffee ground pack in it with mold all in the grinds holder. Never again will I stay here or with any Marriott hotel. Don't waste your money here.
Stayed a week at the hotel. It was located directly across from the hospital and stadium. The carpet in the room was torn, a light was out and the shower curtain was old and brittle. About the third day I mentioned the light to the desk and they fixed it. The breakfast was inconsistent. One morning they had sausage gravy but not again. They usually had sausage patties but never bacon. Based on the location of the hotel I would imagine it gets slammed during football season. Possibly during basketball as well which would account for the wear and tare. The desk staff was very good but housekeeping was mediocre.
Ok, hotel wise, nothing wrong here. Well located, clean and comfortable property that meets the general standard of RIs nation wide. Located across the street from WVs most important hospital and the football stadium, this hotel gets swamped and it shows. Upon arrival there were three groups in line (pretty crowded for this type of property) and only one clerk who was beset with a myriad of issues including computer and credit card system problems. Just as he would get one person headed to their room, they would be back with an issue. The first room they put us in was not made up or clean, we moved successfully after 10-15 min of computer issues. We accessed the new room and neither of our keys ever worked again. Upon return from dinner we couldn’t get back in. Up and down twice for reprogrammed keys...no luck. The lone clerk had to put people on hold to try a master key which also failed. He then announced he didn’t know how to use the programming system and would have to call a manager in. Luckily the housekeeping manager was still on site and she had been the front desk supervisor- she was able to reprogram the door and change the batteries allowing us access after about 30-min, not a tragedy. TO BE FAIR, the manager was extremely apologetic and deducted the pet fee from our bill in compensation. A perfect storm and an overwhelmed desk clerk that was as frustrated as the customers...and it showed. Good rates, worth a stay if you are prepared to be patient
Went to visit our son in Morgantown for his birthday. Upgraded room to one with a fireplace, very nice. Breakfast was good and enjoyed by all. Have stayed there before, and it is consistently a good value. Will stay there again.
We stayed there on an emergency basis with one of our adult children hospitalized while traveling home after the holidays. We were not sure, day to day, when we would be leaving and whether we'd have to check out late when we did. The desk staff was more than accommodating as were the housekeeping folks - with four adults and three children in a 2 bedroom suite, refreshing the rooms was done on the fly.
