Older outdated hotel, not worth the price. The hotel charges for parking even during pandemic and while the pool and jacuzzi were closed. I was told rooms were reduced during pandemic but the price was still around $160 for a Thursday night when everything nearby closes at 6pm and downtown is not nearby. There is free parking on street. The room was clean but the hotel itself was outdated and not kept up. Walked into the hotel lobby to find bugs buzzing about the entryway and the front desk selling hot pockets. After looking at spa wasnt too sure I would go in even if it was open.
We had satisfied stay ground floor with door opening to grass areas to take dogs walk around marina scenic paths. Restaurant s closed at hotel but abundant at Ventura Harbor eg Andreas Seafood fish chips. . Clean showers with soap and body wash dispenser like spa. Unusual time to travel with vivid but went smooth. Everyone wearing masks. Pool closed . Basketball court open . Tennis too. Bike rental and direction to kayak rental vender. Got away from Fillmore that allows fireworks. Dogs got some rest . Still a few Ventura but less. Would do staycation there again
The hotel and it's property were great. Rooms were clean, well maintained, with friendly staff. The grounds were beautiful with a spectacular pool area.
Neighborhood was just OK. Mall across the street was good but nothing to write home to Mom about.
There was a smell from all the boats in the marina, which is not a reflection on the hotel but on the city of Ventura
Hotel was very nice upon arrival. Clean lobby with self serve lime/lemon water. Complimentary coffee located in bar area. Front desk was very nice and helpful. We landed at 5:30am in LA and arrived at hotel around 11am. We were pleasantly surprise with an early check-in. Room was clean and a good size for our family of four. Housekeeping was great. Restaurant downstairs does take out which worked for those nights we turned in early. Be sure to do brunch on Sundays....restaurant offers a great spread. Too bad hotel does not offer laundry facilities. You need to walk over to the nearby Holiday Inn to use washer/dryer. It is a pretty far trek so be prepared. Gym was enough for me to get a good workout in and small pool was perfect for an afternoon or early evening dip. We would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is great. Whilst the building is slightly dated, the pool, tennis courts, hot tub and general grass area made a delightful change to the tight, small rooms we had been staying in previously. The rooms are fine, nothing good nothing bad. We had a room on the bottom floor, which I would highly recommend, because we had a lovely spacious balcony that led onto the grass area. The pool is brilliant, nice and clean and quite big. We made good use of the tennis courts, which are free to use, with a deposit for the equipment.
However, and this isn’t the hotels fault, just something to point out, the surrounding area isn’t great. There are a few restaurants a good 30 minute walk around the harbour, but they’re all a bit shabby and expensive. The location is fine for a one night stop over, but wouldn’t recommend for any longer as it could become dull.
Also, the bar next to reception is extortionate! It was £17 for 2 gin and tonics. Better off bringing your own alcohol and drinking it on your balcony.
Apart from that, would thoroughly recommend this lovely resort! Well worth the money.
