The location of this place is great, very central in kampot and near lots of restaurants. We could hire a motorbike from there for cheap and our room was also nice. Fairly big and the bed was nice and the fan was very good.
Lots of little glitches though, which didn't really bother me. The toilet seat wasn't attached in the bathroom and everything took a long time. So when we hired the motorbike, even though they had the key, they had the bike, the staff were available, it still took ages to get going, bit unnecessary, but normal for Cambodia we have found.
Nothing special, but a nice place to stay really.
Good value for money and friendly staff. There is a variety of accommodation avaiilable, from dorms, rooms with fan, rooms with air con, even a VIP suite. If you chose a room with aircon choose a middle room, the end rooms look out onto a public balcony so you have to keep the curtains shut. The aircon rooms have a TV and a hot shower. The hotel is clean. You can rent a scooter at reception and keep it inside over night, which is a great bonus as it is not safe to leave them in the street. Other hotels you have to take the bikes back to the rental shop to store them at night. There is no restaurant, but you can order from outside restaurants and eat it in the hotel. The hotel is 2 minutes from the river.
The curse of the Lonely Planet guidebook strikes again.
Sorry to say but there are way better options in town now for the same price. We paid 15usd per night for an AC room. There are dirty handprints and squashed mosquitos all over the walls. The sheets looked clean but the thin blanket provided had horrible looking yellow stains on it. Bathroom didn't drain so we had standing water in it the whole time. Shower pressure was good though.
Staff were completely indifferent until we told them we were checking out. A few times I waited at reception to discuss something and was simply ignored until I took the initiative.
All in all the place was OK but it has no vibe. I felt like my friends and I were simply an annoyance to the staff.
There are so many great options in town with plenty of availability even in busy season. Don't waste your time booking anything in advance, just show up and have a look around.
Stayed in a double room with fan and cold water $10 feel like you could get better value somewhere else. Room was okay, tidy and had a tv.
1 staff member at reception is polite but doesn't speak much English at all so you usually have to wait for the other guy who is a bit blunt and also persistent about his scooter hire.
After 3 days we decided to take him up on the offer of scooter hire $5 so that we could ride to Bokor Hill station, unfortunately when we got to the top we had a flat tire... Very inconvenient being in the middle of no where in the middle of the day. Had to walk for ages to get to the casino hoping someone there could help, lucky they called someone who fixed it for $10 and said that the tire tube was too small for that bike. After telling the staff they didn't have anything to say except that we got ripped off paying $10...
All in all it was okay and maybe we had been unlucky.
This hotel is located right between bus station and river, so it has good position. Stuff was helpful and helped us with fullday trip and with transport to Kep. They have reasonable prices and everything looks nice and clean. But I recomend to use AC room. We had only fan and there was an electricity blackout three times at nigh (it was not caused by hotel and it is not so rare in Cambodia ;) ), so it was wery hot night...
