We stayed a week renting 11 rooms, mixed feelings about the place:
- Refreshing pool,
- ideal for large groups to hire out complete place.
- good wifi, aircon
- nice gardens surrounding rooms and pool.
- very dirty bathrooms, beds with no covers over dooners, dirty looking towels. No change in towels.
- breakfast $7 for nasigoren (tourist rip), couldn't get meals right, missing drinks, lacking in seats.
- doors to rooms not closing completely thus mosquitos in rooms.
- needs taxi to get anywhere. Very local shops only by foot.
- run down: rooms smelt of mould, paint peeling, drains blocked.
We rented this Villa for a group of 19 (the whole Villa consists of rooms surrounding the beautiful pool). The management team was helpful every step of the way in accommodating out every request. The rooms were clean and the grounds well maintained. The staff were happy to help with breakfast, laundry, shuttle rides, power bars, you name it! There is also late night security at the front so that the villa is manned 24/7.
I have to give a special shoutout to Gus, the on-site chef. He worked tirelessly with his team to prepare lunch and dinner for our group, catering to everyone's tastes (spicy, non spicy, vegetarian or not, etc) and prepared large portion, varied meals every day for our group. Everyone in the group commented in particular on the quality of the food!
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone looking to organize a group or even a solo outing. The layout is intimate and perfect for a retreat or a family reunion, etc. The on-site wifi was okay, but spotty at times; but hey if you here on a holiday it may be a good time to put down your cell phone and enjoy all of the breathtaking beauty of the island! It is a little bit further from the busier parts of the island but its very nice and quiet compared to the loud hustle and bustle in Kuta & Seminyak. The staff are more than happy to call you an honest Blue Bird taxi (on meter) to take you anywhere for cheap!
Located in the Seminyak street THE light Exclusive Villa is a great choice for travellers 10 mins away from the Seminyak street which is a tourists delight from massage dinning and shopping you name it you have it all. Courteous staff very clean and spacious villas we booked a villa with a private pool had to cut our trip short because of the possible eruption of the Mt Agung but I am going back for sure . My special thanks to Ayu the sweet lady at the Reception and to all the friendly and helpful staff..
Surely recommend this place.
I'm not sure if Light Villas are targeted towards Western tourists. We had booked this place for 2 nights via Jetstar hotels.
We arrived around 11pm (after a slight odyssey through Kerobokan as the villa is located in a dark back alley) and were told upon check in that we'd be moved to their other property in Sanur the next day as they were booked out.
We were tired and the "other place" looked nice enough on the pictures (it turned out to be absolutely awesome - Emerald Villa in Sanur - 5*!), so we grudgingly agreed and went to our room.
The room was large, fairly clean, but the bathroom mouldy and the shower head rusty and slightly dysfunctional. On the upside, all rooms are literally 2 steps from the pool.
At just after 6 am the next morning, we were woken by kids playing in the pool. When I asked the parents to consider that other people might still want to get some sleep (remember, the pool was about 2 m away from our bed...), I just got blank looks. So we got up and asked around 7am if we could get breakfast. The staff again didn't speak much English but in the end told us to go elsewhere to get breakfast, because they couldn't serve us.
Seminyak is about 15 min away by taxi - getting back was difficult as most taxi drivers didn't know the place or didn't want to go to this area.
We paid IDR 1 million for 1 night on Jan 1st and it was just not worth the money.
The walls shows bad paint job, the duvet/kilt doesn't even have any cover. The o lt thing "good enough" about the place the pool area & the landscaping. The room feels "cheap" and a bit run down. The shampoo provided was a sachet of cheap shampoo (selling for less than US$ 0.5 in a nearby warung). The overall cleanliness standard is low compared to the western standard that is pretty common in Bali.
The worst part was then they turned off the AC when we were out (we had asked them to our shampoo in the room after we left post check in).
Plus: the room size is quite big.
But I'd rather pay 1/2 of the price at Chic budget hotel such as Neo / Ibis Stiles at the heart of petitenget. The room might be a lot smaller, but at least i can have full confidence that the room (and the bed sheet) is clean
