My dad rented Inkleborough house for his 50th birthday for the week.
The house slept 13 adults and 4 small children and a dog. The house is stunning, with lovely spacious bedrooms and living rooms, a beautiful kitchen with an agar and a large dining area and games room which was perfect for the birthday celebrations. Being the time of year it is, we didn’t spend much time in the garden but I imagine in the summer this too would be lovely as it’s so large. We were also greeted with home baked chocolate cake and champagne which was a great touch!
Myself and my partner were in the Orchid room which I think is one of the smaller rooms. The bed was incredibly comfortable and spacious enough for us two. We shared a bathroom with other guests which had a lovely hot and powerful shower.
We had a fantastic week and would definitely recommend to everyone, there are lots of pretty places and pubs to visit locally. The only downside sadly is an unfortunate incident with a neighbour.
There are signs indicated all over the games room and dining room to say the owners get complaints from the neighbours and therefore ask us to respect their wishes and to reduce noise at certain hours - specifically up to 10pm. We were very respectful of this and let the dog out at 9pm for a last run around and a wee before we put her to bed. She can be very playful admittedly and has a weird fascination with rocks where she barks at them. Despite our best efforts to shush her she began barking and whining around the fence where she had heard a neighbouring dog earlier in the day.
Someone then banged and kicked the gate repeatedly to which my partner opened it to a very rude and angry woman who said unless we shut the dog up that she would call the owners and have our deposit revoked and call the RSPCA. Whilst we appreciate the barking at that moment wasn’t ideal, she was only being let out to go to the toilet and it was long before the 10pm curfew.. and not to mention she banged and kicked the gate so hard we could hear her from near the house. We just felt her behaviour was very extreme and it seems to be that the neighbours are obviously not fans of the rental hence the signs in the house. I imagine this is a regular occurrence for the hosts for them to complain of any kind of disturbance.
The RSPCA thing was also a bit of a joke as I’m a vet myself and can say with absolute confidence, no harm was coming to the dog whatsoever, and she was having a very indulgent week away.
This did put a downer on the evening, as it was the evening of my dads birthday and it really upset my partner and my stepbrother who had to endure this awful woman first hand.
That aside we had a lovely week and would definitely come back! But if you’re going to cause any form of noise in the evenings prior to the time indicated be aware the neighbours are clearly not fans!
So glad we discovered Incleborough House. We had a wonderful stay there for four nights celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with all the family.
The house is superb with seven wonderful bedrooms and ensuites, all very spacious, spotless clean and beautifully decorated and furnished and is in an excellent location for the local village shops, pubs & restaurants and only a few minutes’ walk to a lovely beach. There has been so much thought gone into making the accommodation have everything you need for a fantastic holiday and great memories with all the little extras and personal touches.
We were fortunate to have the hottest week of the summer and so many hours were spent enjoying the lovely garden, the beach and visiting local places. The grandchildren loved the garden, especially the hot tub, table tennis and trampoline and the outdoors was large enough to have plenty of different areas for whatever the family chose to do. The house itself is spacious enough for anyone to enjoy their own space but also has a wonderful lounge for family games and fun evenings.
We booked Avril, of Chef 2Dine 4, to cater for two evenings and all of us enjoyed her delicious and beautifully presented menus. Our special anniversary meal was cooked by her on site. Amazing!
All in all, without doubt, the best place we have every stayed in! Nick and Barbara, the owners, are two wonderful people who were so helpful and were on hand quickly to answer any queries we had. A big thank you to them. All the family hope very much to book another stay in the not-too-distant future to relive our happy memories at Incleborough House in July 2019.
This is a great house on the Norfolk coast. It was the perfect place to celebrate a large family gathering for my mums birthday at Easter. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and all them rooms are decorated to a high standard. No one ended up in a small kids room which is a real plus for a large family who are all adults.
Great amenities In the house and the hot tub was fab. Everything we needed for large family weekend away was thought of and provided. This is without doubt the best large luxury house we have stayed in.
We stayed in this beautiful house to celebrate my 60th birthday. Every room is beautifully furnished and Nick and Barbara have thought of everything to make a stay at Incleborough House memorable and special. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils and appliances and the hot tub is amazing. The cake made by Barbara was delicious and I can't wait to return. Thank you.
It's hard to find something negative to say about this property, I guess the only thing I would say is we didn't want to leave! The property is very special with lovely features, comfy furnishings and practical extras to help your holiday go smoothly. We booked fairly last minute and for just a small number however the owners were hugely accommodating. We took our two dogs who loved every minute. We arrived about 4pm and was greeted by Angela, who took the time to show us around and make sure we knew where everything was and how everything worked, having someone take the time to do this makes a real difference to your stay, from the AGA oven to the Sky and of course the lovely hot tub. During our stay we spent most of our time in the little snug, which is located right behind the aga and was always warm. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for a party of any size, the house caters for 10 plus with lots of cutlery, crockery, glasses, huge dining table and 2 fridges, but equally was great just for us. I's never used an aga and was surprised how easy and convenient it was. The owners Nick and Barbara know how to make you feel, part of their proposition is a welcome pack which was well received, home made cake and champagne included! The house is great for families, friends, couples, it has a secure garden for children and animals, a great games room and lovely hot tub. The house is located in the little village of East Runton which is easily walking distance to Cromer however the village has a little super market, which sold everything we needed, a bar and a fish and chip shop. If you want a lovely break by the sea in the UK you should give Nick and Barbara a call, this property is lovely, they also have 2 others, I'd recommend this property and that if you're interested that we look at future dates or late deals on Facebook because unsurprisingly it gets booked quickly.
A lovely stay, great property in great location and you feel very well looked after, we'll definitely be statying again.
