The name change is so recent that Uber and Trip Advisor still have this as Knights Inn. The WiFi SSID is still Knights Inn. I was relegated to this place because the "Senior Games" were in town and hotels were slammed. I will sleep at the airport given a choice again. This place was built before I was born and I qualify as a Senior and it has not been updated in quite some time. It did have a flat screen TV and it did have decent signal and channel choices but I cannot say much else nice about the place. They charge for ice, the towels are not white (though they did appear to be clean) and the air conditioning struggled. I checked in after 7 and had to go across the street to the Apothocary Lounge (very nice views) because the air was off and the room was a sweatbox. The bathrooms need updating, the carpets need to be replaced but I will not care as I will not be back.
I stayed here for a night with my girlfriend. We arrived for check-in at night and were polite to the old White man at the front desk. Yet, he was really cold and rude and gave us attitude for no reason.
At night, the heater kept the room too hot then too cold even though we set the temp at 71. What’s worse is that the sheets were thin and not warm at all.
Lastly, the house keeping lady barged into our room without knocking and I was standing by the door and asked her “what the hell?” She walked away still talking on her cell phone without saying a thing. It was really confusing because she wasn’t even wearing any sort of uniform.
I wouldn’t recommend this place, even for the price.
The positives: plenty of parking and reasonably large bedrooms.
The negatives: The swimming pool was small and dirty so we decided not to swim. The breakfast was limited, small in size and we needed to carry the breakfast from the reception area back to our bedrooms. When we arrived, the gentleman on reception directed us to where we should go for an evening meal which transpired to be a fast food place nearer the centre of Albuquerque to which we needed to drive. We would not have chosen to go there for dinner. The area around the motel did not look inviting. We would not choose to stay there again.
I arrived at 12:30 P.M. and was told that check-in was at 3:00 PM. However, I was also told that they did have a $20 early check-in policy. No $20, no check-in. However, he did tell me to come back at 2:30 PM and he would give me a room. I have stayed in thousands of rooms in 48 US states and 119 countries and territories and can think of only one other time that a hotelier refused an early check-in unless a fee was paid. I see no reason to do business with a hotel that does not allow free early check-in, especially in a market like Albuquerque that has numerous budget options. Early check-in is a common hotel courtesy that is practiced almost everywhere. Why do business with a hotel that has such an exploitive “fee for key” check-in policy that leaves guests locked out? Just go somewhere else. This is not the type of policy that consumers should accept. It is the hotel’s right to have this policy, but we do not have to support it. Regardless of any further comments, what I have said is the truth, and my many other reviews reflect the fact that I am a reasonable and fair evaluator of where I have stayed. I had no other problems here, and the room was clean and comfortable.
