In an older area of town. Used to be quite a sketchy neighborhood, but that has been cleaned up as of late.

The motel is older but looks like it has been updated somewhat recently with new tile in the bathroom, HD-TV (free cable including HBO and ESPN). Free WiFi (which I didn't try) and an outdoor pool that looked very clean (the pool is right next to the highway, so might be a bit noisy -- didn't go swimming as it was raining). The in-wall A/C unit worked and was fairly quiet as these types of units go (seemed newer than others I've seen in similarly priced places). The walls between the rooms (at least on the ground floor) are made of BRICK! We heard nothing from the rooms on either side (I know they were occupied), even in the morning with flushes and showers. The carpet is showing signs of age, but my bare feet felt comfortable on it (some older motels seem to use something that makes my feet itch or feel burned - not here).

I was a bit skeptical after reading the other reviews, but we had a very nice experience. Neither English or Spanish is the proprietor's first language, so a language barrier could have let to other's less-than-optimal experiences. We had no problem. We even went back late morning because we left a phone charger in the room and they accommodated is with no problem (phone charger found!).

SO, FOR-THE-PRICE, this was an excellent experience. We'll go here again if we're in that area of town.

Clean. The owners tried hard to make our visit enjoyable. Set up table by pool so that we could play bridge. Breakfast in office was coffee, orange juice, rolls and hard boiled eggs. Printed our boarding passes for us. We plan to stay there on our next visit.

This place was very inexpensive so I really wasn't expecting much, but it was totally fine. The room was large, clean, updated, and had a huge hd flat screen tv with way more channels then I was used to. AC was a little confusing but did the job of cooling down the room in no time flat. Lots of lighting, nice mini fridge and microwave. No coffee pot but I was traveling with my own so no biggie there. The supplied toiletries were motel grade, but I travel with the stuff I like to use, so once again, no biggie. Bathroom wasn't huge with much room to set your stuff out, but sink, toilet, and tub with shower were bright and white. Shower head might be situated a little low if you're much over 6' tall though. Huge parking lot and parked right at my door. The neighborhood was very decent, and very convenient to I-40 and downtown. Didn't use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. For the $$ saved I would definitely stay there again.
