The room was very dark with no windows and bad lightning. The kitchen was in a dark corner, and ALL the equipments was dirty. There was no soap or sponge to clean the dishes, so we went to ask for it. The staff speak very badly English, and we had to get help from a 10 year old boy to translate. But the staff shaked their heads, and we had to find soap and a sponge on our own before we could eat lunch in our room. The pool was nice, but there was just a little space around it and only a few sunbeds, so you have to come early to get a space. There were no internet in the room, only on the balcony. But on the balcony there was no shade, so it´s not possible to sit there in the middle of the day. There was also no place to dry clothes on the balcony, so we had to hang the wet swimwear over two chairs.
The room was just not practical at all, and the dirty kitchen was disgusting.
Will not recommend this place.
We stayed at Villa Markos for 3 nights in July. We had a large party taking up 6 or 7 rooms. The hotel had all the amenities you could ask you, rooms with balconies, friendly staff, good frappes, clean pool, and affordable breakfast. It’s located about a 3 min walk to the beach or to a market and shops. Marko took good care of us!
We stayed for 5 days and had a lovely room with a pentry. The hotel is close to the beach and have its own pool as well. The family that runs the hotel are friendly and helpful. The room is very clean and have everything you need. Because it is on a side road it is quite quiet which is very nice! If we will go back to Santorini, we will live here again!
We had a very nice and cozy stay at Villa Markos for 9 days.
As a family driven hotel, they took very good care of us, and had a constant attention to our wellbeing and comfort.
For the basics - the room was nice and comfortable with a small kitchen and amenities so we could make our own little breakfast, and we had our own little porch outside. Every day a sweet little lady made sure to clean the rooms and to replace all the towels.
The pool was cleaned every morning and just perfect for a morning dip or a refreshing dip upon returning from a day by the beach. Villa Markos is located very conveniently so it is a short walk to the beach, but still mostly undisturbed by any noise from the beach bars. Perfect.
It is also a short walk to a small dodgy supermarket by the road, but we recommend walking the extra distance to the BIG supermarket further up the road.
Mr. Markos and his family were extra helpful to us, for which we are very grateful, one day they went out of their way to drive me to the neighbor town for a trip to the pharmacy, and on our last day after we checked out, Mr. Markos let us use his reception for changing clothes and store our bags. And we could still stay and use the pool the whole day if we chose. He even drove us to the airport at midnight and refused to receive any money for it because he is a good man!
We can only give our best recommendations for a stay at Villa Markos!
We loved it, and we hope to come back next year!
We were looking for a hotel with a small kitchenette where you could have some homemade breakfast and a swimming pool where you could relax after a long day exploring. We found the place. This is budget accommodation in Santorini with charming owners and all utensils that you may need in your room. I would recommend it if you are looking to stay in Perissa. From all the research I made this offers you the best conditions at a nice price. Enjoy!
