Located just outside the pretty little village of Sant 'Angelo in Colle . A quiet location with an incredible view from the pool . Very nice air-conditioned apartments and very clean . Two really good restaurants up in the village . Relax, enjoy the Tuscan landscape.
8 of us stayed here and loved it. It's out of the way, in the middle of a vineyard with beautiful views!
We traveled day trips from here. We enjoyed eating at the town just above on the hillside. I think it was called Saint Angelo en Cole. We did enjoy the pool. There is not much else to do there except tour the winery on premise and just enjoy the beauty of the area.
We have booked an appartment for 5 days at Il Poggione to relax and visit some places in Montalcino & Montepulciano area. The appartments are located near to Sant'Angelo in Colle - a few kilometers on a small road away from civilisation. Appartemt was very big for 2 people - in the facilities you have also laundry room and pool - everything located on a small hill with great view over the area midle in the wineyards - every day during walk with the dog we saw rabbits and some wild hogs.
Great facility middle in the wineyards
My wife and I just concluded a six day stay at Il Poggione in one of the 1 bedroom apartments. The agriturismo is located approx. 12 Km from Montalcino, just outside of the town of S. Angelo in Colle toward the end of an unpaved road. We were quite satisfied with our accomodations. The apartment was well maintained and all amenities (except for internet access, which was down) provided a relaxing base of operation for our vacation tour of southern Tuscany. The views from our apartment of the surrounding vineyards were absolutely beautiful. During our stay we had the entire agriturismo to ourselves for five of the six days. While it was too early in the season for the pool, it did look quite inviting and would have been a great spot to refresh yourself after a long day on the road in June or July.
We had very little contact with the staff during our stay with the exception of the groundskeeper (a very pleasant gentleman) who we saw on several mornings.
Based on our experience this was a true apartment rental, with little in the line of personal attention or services from the staff. While this was exactly what we had expected, some people may be looking for a more B & B or resort type environment. If so they will be disappointed. As for us, we enjoyed the serenity & solitude, along with the views.
