The Expedia write-up for this place is a little misleading as it doesn't mention that the hotel has cold water only, which I think is very important in helping people to make an informed decision on where to stay. 'free toiletries' is also stretching it for the bar of soap you get by the sink!
The location is pretty good with the national park an easy walking distance, the restaurant was nice and very useful to have one on site when we didn't want to venture out during rainy season. The staff are all friendly and helpful. One lady speaks perfect English, but a little Spanish is helpful for communicating with everybody else. The gardens are lovely (would benefit from a bird table to make a bit of a feature of the amount of wildlife they get) and the pool was good and deep (but with children's pool).
The reason for my rating is firstly the price point, which I feel is pretty high for a cold water only basic hotel, and the rooms. The rooms are pretty rustic with gaps in the slats which let in quite a lot of bugs. They're reasonably clean on a day to day basis but there are a lot of cobwebs in the ceiling slats and up behind the curtains. The electrics are a bit sparky and the toilet flush was fairly ineffective.
very nice quaint B&B, in a natural park with flowers, birds, monkeys... A big swimming pool (with very hot water!) where relaxing with a smoothie... Nice and spacious room. Good Breakfast and Dinner too.
Nice location close to the beach, a little far from the main road if you don't have a car but there is plenty of stuff near by, you can rent a bike for $8 a day, the food at their restaurant is very good, the chicken rice was awesome so many flavors, the room we had did not get wifi and had some large cracks in the walls and ceilings but was fixed immediately in the morning without us even saying anything, they must have saw the tissue stuffed in them, they grounds are very nice and well maintained, nice pool, chickens running around, over all a fun place to stay
Ramshackle rooms of dark wooden boards loosely fitted with gaps between them ( we could see into the hallway through the walls , our neighbors bathroom had a large gap between ours , caulked up roughly .The boards around the washbasin were toothpaste spattered and grimy . The bathroom is cold water only and not clean .There is a small covered porch off each room , ours had a strong smell of septic tank , which was nearby .Breakfast was also disappointing , the fruit and cereal option was a tiny peice of pineapple , mango and apple and cornflakes , coffee and some kind of juice . The pool is nice , and lots of flowering shrubs around ,very little shade on the grounds though .The wifi was not working in the rooms and the front desk staff desultory and lackadaisical .The place is not easy to find , a long walk on rough roads to the beach and restaurants .If you are bussing in this place is not good , drivers be prepared for a very rough road in .Yes it has AC , TV , ceiling fans and a pool , but it is not worth the money they charge .
This is a beautiful place to go. Centric but not into the crowd. The entrance is full of high trees, and the local people working there are very nice, very kind, food is Good, and a swimming pool bigger enough to swim a little bit. Not that small. I recommend this place, is one of the best places I have found to stay in the area! I like it!
