We had a very good stay in the Blue Bay hotel. (Three nights)
The owner took us at the airport at our arrival, he did his best to prepare the room (we arrived a bit early). He also suggested us very nice places to visit in the island.
The sight from the pool is perfect, we could see the sunset and the beautiful city very close (Parikia).
Next time we come to Paros, fur sure we will come back to the Blue Bay :)
We stayed here as a family of four (children 12 and 8) for eight nights as part of a holiday around Greece, and have to say that this was our best view of the entire trip!
The hotel is situated on the hillside above Parikia, and so has a fantastic view across the bay, taking in the sea, the port and the town, as well as the mountains behind. All apartments/rooms have great views, with ours (room 7) including a huge balcony that was shaded from the sun, so perfect for sitting out at any time of day!
Our room was very tasteful, in a traditional Greek style, with a small kitchen area (which was perfectly adequate for cooking for the family), and then two bedroom areas, plus a shower room, and then the huge balcony. Air conditioning is included as standard, so it is easy to stay comfortable, even on the hottest days.
The hotel shares some public areas with the next door hotel, which is also very small and family run, and so they compliment each other. The pool and bar areas have some of the best views across the bay, and drinks are good value, and available at all times, with an honesty system if no one is there. Even though we were there in peak season, it was always quiet at the pool and bar, so perfect for relaxation!
What really makes Heliolithos Blue Bay is the superb service from Christiana and the rest of the family. We were welcomed at the port on arrival, and then lifts given to and from town on a few occasions, including picking us up one night when we couldn't get a taxi! Nothing was too much trouble, and guests certainly come first - true Greek hospitality. Christiana will do anything to ensure you have a great stay! What a really lovely lady!
The walk down to the beach (where there is an excellent beach bar that also serves lovely food) takes less than 10 minutes, and is very easy, but it is a bit more difficult, especially in the heat, on the way back due to the steep hill! It is another 5 minutes or so into town, so easy enough to walk, but easier to get a taxi back due to the lack of pavements in Parikia (we had the kids to consider), plus the steepness of the hill. Taxis were very cheap (around six euros), but not always easy to come by (it was peak season) - although they tended to appear at the port in time for each ferry, so that was a good time to catch one.
Being the end of July, we did come across a lot of mosquitos, but Christiana was very quick to provide us with a machine and tablets to deter them, and thankfully that did help a great deal!
Heliolithos Blue Bay is a beautiful, small, family run hotel, that is perfect for a relaxing get-away on Paros, and we were very impressed with the warm welcome, fantastic views, comfortable room, and great service. Thank you Christiana and family!
My boyfriend and I spent 3 lovely days at Heliolithos and left wishing we had booked a longer trip! Everything was perfect- we were picked up at the ferry port by George (who also kindly drove us in to Parikia a few times), our room was lovely and the pool and surrounding areas were gorgeous. The view of the town alone will make you glad you booked. All in all a wonderful stay with a wonderful host. We will most definitely return!
Well, the 5 points rating are not enough for such a wonderful hotel!
Me and my boyfried arrived at the ferry port in Paros but, although we asked for the free shuttle service, nobody was waiting for us. We called and the owner got confused with the arrival of another couple. Howewer in less than 5 minutes he came to the ferry port picking up us and apoligizing for the inconvenient!
The hotel is at 1/2 km up on a hill from the center of Parikia. The location is wonderful, with an amazing view of all the bay. Very quite but, at the same time, very close to the see and to the city.
Our room was wonderful, very very well furnished room. The cleaness is perfect, the furniahments new, there was lavanda in the room and it smelled a lot! Also, there was a fridge and all the necessary to prepare our own breakfast (cutelery, dishes, mugs, glasses, boiler, ...). Out of our room (which more seemed like a private studio in a residence) we also had a worderful private veranda with a stunning view.
The pool area is great. Not a very big pool, but perfect location. With 6 euro it is also possible to have breakfast (home made jam, greek yoghourt, bread, salami, ham, cheese, coffee, orange juice, home made pie,...) in this area.
The owners are really very kind. They provided to us a car and they always suggestes us where to go or whero eat.
The is also free wifi in all rooms and common area.
What should I add? This is without any doubt the best hotel I have never visited. Go ahead and enjoy it! :D
We stayed here for a couple of nights. The view is magnificent and I loved the pool. Our hosts Cristiana and Thanasas were really helpful. Most people staying here will hire a vehicle of some sort, but we did not as we find driving in Europe a little scary. A taxi is only 6 Euros from town, it is quite a strenuous walk up the hill. We suggest walking via the beach as there is no footpath on the road. We were in room 15 which meant we were close to the pool but had the most amazing view from the table outside. I think the room above us, or rather the balcony above us, would have an even better view and perhaps a little removed from some pool noise (which wasn't a big deal). There are some cats as well, which become quite interested when one is eating.
When entering the taxi, ask for Kroteri Bay Hotel as the Heliolithis is owned by relatives and is better known and is part of the same complex. Also this can be confused with the Akroteri which is nearby.
