The only reason for not giving 1 star is because the staff was super friendly at all times.
We originally planned to stay for 3 nights but decided to head back home after 1 night. Our room had a very strong cigarette smell which we presumed was from the room next to us, there are signs about not smoking in the rooms but I guess people don’t follow the rules.
The location is perfect and has lots of potential but the rooms, decor and fixtures, are super old and not clean. If you must stay here bring your pillows, towels and some cleaning products.
My husband and my three children had a great time staying here. The room was clean and a little out dated but a retro hotel built in the 60`s. The staff was very friendly, and the location was perfect. Kim, the General Manager was very helpful to guide us to restaurants and attractions in the area. The weather wasn`t the best but we had a great stay. I would recommend this quaint hotel to anyone that doesn`t want the high rise hotel chain experience.
First off the Staff was very friendly. Overall property is nice with nice pool and games, hammocks, swing and some beach umbrellas. However the room was pretty old and dirty. We came on a Friday and did not see a maid until Sunday. We had six people and the few towels they gave us were gone the first day, the trash pails were overflowing, the"carpet" was sandy dirty and disgusting. The "towels" were old dingy, browning towels that probably have never seen bleach. When someone finally came on Sunday we still did not get enough towels they barely vacuumed the middle of the rug, did not wipe tables or even touch the sheets. It was not at all pleasant to be or sleep in that room. Saw a roach on the second night crawl across the bed. We all lost money in the drink machine when I told the manager she did nothing for us. We paid the same amount it cost to stay at the nice Windjammer hotel next door which always has clean rooms, very dependable maid service and all the amenities. Unfortunately they were full this weekend. Again overall it looks like a nice place but I would never stay there again especially for that amount of money. Just to dirty and disgusting of a room for me and no one seems to care.
Enjoyed our 5 day stay in our oceanfront room.
The location is excellent! The room was very comfortable and clean. Nice pool with gas grills and hammocks to lounge in. The staff is amazingly friendly! Definitely will be returning to the SeaHawk.
First off, this is not meant to bash the Seahawk, only to describe my recent experience at the motel. I’ve went there off and on with my family over the last 15+ years. I hadn’t been in about 10 years but I can honestly say I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon unless there are some serious renovations. The Seahawk is around 50 years old and it’s definitely showing. The bathrooms are in serious need of an update as it doesn’t look like any renovations have been done since the Seahawk was built. The shower would turn hot-to-cold over and over and there was a stain in the bottom of the tub when we arrived. The air conditioner shot out water droplets (condensation, according to maintenance) which makes the rooms very humid, even with the AC on full blast and the doors and windows closed. Our door had a hole at the bottom of it which was a little disturbing considering the fact that small creatures could get in and out if they wanted to. The carpet had stains on it and the mattress and box springs are old and not the greatest to sleep on. I have written this review with the hope that room renovations will hopefully come soon. The Seahawk has so much to offer with its location on the beach, nice housekeeping staff, good pool and hammocks overlooking the ocean. The rooms and bathrooms are just in desperate need of an update in order to get on par with other hotels in the surrounding area and get this motel looking like a 21st century accommodation.
