We checked into our 4-bedroomed house to be greeted with a welcome note and chocolates from the resort which was a great indicator of the level of service we would expect. The house was spotlessly clean with lovely crisp white bedding, towels and shower gel/soap etc. All 4 bedrooms had blackout blinds, were en-suite, had individual key card locks and the doors were almost sound proof so this is ideal if you are thinking of coming with another family or colleagues, plus there was an extra general downstairs toilet. The restaurant was not open as its out of season (July/Aug I think) however it can be booked for groups - drinks, postcards and ice creams etc could be ordered from the bar area and taken on the lovely terrace area overlooking the fjord. The nearest town was about 15 mins’ drive with a Rema1000 and a Vinmonopolet, so it’s advisable to take all your food and drink with you, the kitchen is not massive but sufficient, plus there is an outdoor type shed with key to store everything else.

With the stay comes a free day pass into Sørlandsbadet which all the family loved. We did not hire a boat from the resort but if you are a keen fisher then they have all the equipment you can possibly need, plus a full fish kitchen so it’s great for the children to get involved, our children fished outside our house which was perfect (although if you have young children I suggest bringing life vests so they are safe around the water’s edge and gives you a little more price of mind) or you can ask to be away from the water’s edge and nearby the children’s play area. There were also smaller football nets and a volley ball net which the children loved (the grass was a little long and within less than half an hour the resort had cut it – great service!) The resort was full but as most of the guests were fishing and were out all day it was very peaceful, there were a few other families around making it a little more social for the children. Cars can off load outside most of the houses then are required to move to the car parks which makes it safe for children to play outside.

Outside there was a table, chairs and small BBQ, utility room with ironing board and iron etc and great to store your luggage, the rubbish areas were set up well too making it easy for you to recycle.

A great place to stay and very flexible as we had 8 in one house and another couple hired one of the smaller apartments (still to the same standard). Overall a beautiful few days and if travelling with children don’t forget the life jackets, paddle boats, fishing rods and football etc. We hope to return very soon

Stayed for a couple of nights at this beautiful resort. The house had three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen and sitting room. Very well equipped, very clean and new. The scenery is astonishing, right next to the water. Peaceful and great nature next to the door. An absolute recommendation for a visit!

Stayed in a 3 room vacation house. All doors to bedroom with separate locks and all bedrooms with twin beds and separate bathrooms! That is 3 bathrooms and a separate guest toilet!

Geir had left us a big Easter egg filled with goodies and a handwritten card wishing us welcome, what a heart warming surprise!

Unfortunately our water tank wouldnt heat, so we were given keys to another house for showering and on the day before departure Geir personally came by to give us a free two nights stay gift card as a compensation for the discomfort!

Beautiful place, quiet and serene. Superclean, high standard house with garden. Possible to rent boats and kayaks, playground in backyard and hiking trails.
Daypasses to Sørlandsbadet waterpark included.

Thank you for a wonderful Easter break! We are definitely coming back!

Stayed with children and grandparents for a night in July. Our rooms were located in the houses along the sea. Interior was clean, tidy and nice. Thumbs up for separate bathrooms connected to each bedroom. Food was tasty and staff was serviceminded. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday, not knowing that they don't serve food or drinks after 6 pm. Had we known, we would have brought some extra snacks to our private kitchen. Very convenient with kitchen when travelling with baby and small children, but i would not recommend the seaside houses travelling with small kids. Rather go with one of the other houses/rooms, as you can't take eyes from them for a second due to deep water off the jetty. House had a cozy terrace and a nice view, but we felt a bit on display both from the restaurant and from people passing constantly.

Thank you very much for Your feedback. It`s a very good idea to consider a house not so directly at the seaside, both in regards to Your children and the feeling of beeing on display on the terrace. If you call us prior to arrival we would love to help you with that. Restaurant hours are communicated through our website, but I see that we also can make other efforts in order to communicate that better. Welcome back another time and best regards Geir T Resort Manager

Stayed at Farsund Resort with a couple of friends just before high season, we had a terrific stay there. We love water and we love nature, hills and mountains, and Farsund Resort gives you all of this. The house we got (101) was modern and spacious, giving the 4 of us plenty of room and privacy to cook, sleep, rest, eat, bbq, internet and enjoy ourselves. And the view from the house is very nice.

When you are fishermen like us, you'll think you're in heaven with the facilities Farsund Resort offers: large ultra clean fish cleaning area and walk in freezer where you can store your catch (cod, pollack, leng, mackerel, herring, you name it, more than 50 species available), both being close to the scaffolding your boat is lying. The same room also offers you a washer and two dryers, detergent included.

We rented a seaworthy boat (very high quality, Skager 660) for the complete period we stayed and we got a reasonable discount. Having a boat available really gives you extra freedom and enhances the way you can celebrate your holiday. Open sea is about 20 minutes away, wind protected fjords are everywhere in the area.

Tip: When you are in Farsund Resort, ask for the bread service, which is not cheap but which will give you a nice big warm loaf of bread every morning, and never the same type of bread.

Most of the staff is very service oriented and kind, speaking (like almost everywhere in Norway) english fluently. We knew we would arrive late in the evening after reception hours and were told to find our keys somewhere close to our house (guess where ;-) ). No problem, of course. But to our surprise a girl from the staff stayed and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at 22:00.

Wifi was reliable, most of the time. We were able to stream (Dutch) radio and tv successfully.

There are two things which would further improve the quality Farsund Resort offers:
(1) when you have a house at the edge of the park like we had, and carry a lot of luggage with you, it would be nice that you can use a cart, as it is not possible to park your car close to the house.
(2) we stayed for two weeks, and had to ask the reception ourselves to have some extra towels and/or have the towels replaced after some days.

Apart from this, Farsund Resort is one of the nicest places we ever stayed.

Thank you very much for your kind feedback, I`m really glad you enjoyed your stay here. The tip about the carts/trolleys was very good, we most certainly will look into that. And of course, towels and bedlinnen should been replaced without asking for it. I hope to see you back here another time. Best regards Geir T
