5 days here is definitely not enough, but I'm sure not even 2 weeks would have been enough :). This was the last stage of our two-week trip, so we mainly spent it resting and visiting the neighbouring areas, but the location is also great for active holidays.
The owners of 'A la Claudy' are very nice, warm people, who create the mood of this site. Our room (La Douce) was spacious, nicely furnished, bright. It was pure pleasure to have an afternoon coffee in our own room :).
Rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day, the entire site is very tidy and well-kept.
Breakfasts were delicious, with a wide choice of food available.
We ate dinners in local restaurants, we especially liked http://www.lotrebistro.com/ which was recommended to us by Claudy - they had excellent pizza and beef.
The site features beautiful pools (including one inside the building, with a current machine) <3. The location is surrounded with orchards, so the neighbourhood is quiet, green and cozy.
After searching some hotels in the area , we decided to experience the La Claudy ...my first experience in B&B
What a surprise , We were right in the place to be , in the middle of nowhere in the luberon within 20 min of all the best spots to visit .
Amazing hosts Claudy and Didier were incredible and very helpful , they love what they do .
Don't miss the organic home made breakfast from Claudy and also the Organic olive oil harvested around the property .
This place is ideal for Kids , 2 pools , 1 natural pond , breathtaking garden and olive trees around you ...room is great and very quite .
Our daughter fall in love with the dogs and the farm animals ..
what else to say ...just can wait to go back....
a bientôt Claudy , Didier
I've been to France eight times and have stayed at over forty B&B's. This one is the best. We were in the downstairs suite at the east end of the ground level and it was perfect. The surrounding gites were nice, especially the one by the lake. Our suite included breakfast which was in one of the most beautiful dining areas you could imagine and it was a full spread top notch breakfast. They even have some bikes available if you want to explore the environs. The house sets on 14 or so acres of immaculately kept grounds. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful. I think Claudy decorated the place herself and she did an amazing job. It's the kind of tasteful decoration you go to France to see. If you want to stay in a beautiful place and don't mind spending a bit more, this is the place for you.
Disappointing! Not quite the quiet & peaceful retreat we expected.
To start with the gites are very close to each other and only separated by a fence so you can hear your neighbours' conversations quite well ( we had a lady talking all day long about her depression)...
The outside area of the gite includes a patio that is unusable as it's directly outside the next
gite's grand floor bedroom window. The remaining small outside useable area is surrounded by a fence with a view on the car park...
If like me, the idea of a massage sold the place to you, don't be mistaken, the lady who does the treatments has got her own beauty salon 40 km away and needs to be booked weeks in advance and after 7pm ..... Another disappointment ....
We also stupidly thought that the gite had wifi (as advertised) when to our desappointment again, we were shown an Ethernet cable .... that of course we couldn't plug to any of our devices (iPad, iPhones ....) the wifi is at the main building, next to the chambres d'hotes.... Not very handy ...
We enjoy cooking and the idea of having our own place to cook local products picked up on the market really appealed to us.
Little did we know : the BBQ described is an electric one !! No oven ! Only a microwave and two electric plates!! It's ok for pasta and grilling with no BBQ taste. that's why you come to France isn't it ?
Swimming pools : too many restrictions - no sun lotion if you use the natural water one- only to be used at specific times.
Le pigeonnier is expensive for what is has got to offer, you can find a lot better, bigger, with your own pool for the same price.(we did just that the previous week, shame we couldn't stay).
We are especially disappointed as the advertised description was misleading. Don't be fooled...

If your idea of the perfect vacation is drinking beer around a pool surrounded by hordes of noisy children and their inflatable toys, with loud music blaring in the background... this is not the place for you! The only sounds here are the chirping cicadas, the breeze in the trees, croaking frogs, clucking hens, Tulip the donkey braying and her goat friends bleating.
I should point out that I would rather not write this review as I'd like to keep A LA CLAUDY as a secret place just for me and, of course, a few friends. However, one must share.
The owners Claudy and Didier are absolutely delightful, the personification of kindness and generosity. They are very attentive to their guests’ needs, even supplying fruit from the garden and freshly-laid eggs. They have created a truly enchanting HOME - not 'just' a B&B and holiday cottages. Each object, each picture, each piece of furniture, the bedroom and bathroom linen and the colours on the walls have been chosen with great attention to detail. Each room is a delight with its own special character. It is obvious that they have restored the buildings with heaps of tender loving care and in the best possible taste. It is quite simply fabulous.
LE BASTIDON: A friend and I spent the most relaxing week ever at Le Bastidon and I have already booked again for next year. It is perfect for two. Fully-equipped kitchen. Wet room with a power shower. Very comfortable double bed and sofa bed. Wifi. Electric barbecue. The setting is superb; shrubs, lavender and the adjacent natural pool. A private terrace with a bench and two sun loungers affords uninterrupted views of the man-made lake and island. We moved the dining table to the terrace so that we could eat whilst watching the moorhens skimming across the water and the frogs leaping from stones into the reeds. Bliss!
Musts: A massage by Agnès. Claudy’s delicious organic olive oil. The natural pool.
Best kept secret: Claudy’s tea collection!
Tips: In nearby Lambesc, there is a well-stocked Casino hypermarket which is open from Monday to Saturday until 20:00 and on Sunday mornings until 13:00. You’ll need 1 Euro for the shopping trolley or you can ask for a plastic “jeton” at the reception on the left just inside the main entrance. GPS 43°38'55.57"N 5°15'30.25"E.
