Amazing resort...Stayed for 2 days (Feb 25 & 26 2020) at Kabini Spring resort with family. Wonderful ambience...The room was furnished with essentials and room service was reasonably prompt. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff is extremely courteous and the property manager was very helpful throughout the trip. There are many indoor and outdoor activities. Truly enjoyed the bonfire..Pool area is clean and well maintained. The jungle safari was an awesome experience...Food was delicious...The stay was worth the money spent....true value for money. Would definitely want to visit the place again. Once again thanks to all the people who made our stay really awesome....
We had to book this resort as a “no alternate option”, since our original booking with another resort got cancelled due to miscommunication between our travel agent and that hotel, by the time we realized this gap, the other hotel already got fully booked by a wedding party and we had no other choice but to book with Kabini Springs in the nth hour, given the number of rooms we needed being a huge group of 30 people looking for stay at peak season. (yearend vacation)
Having read all their negative ratings by previous customers on various websites, we went well prepared with our own towels, bedsheets, toiletries, spare food etc etc, as it was only a matter of passing two days, and there was no option to cancel the trip.
Apparently, the day-to-day running and management of this place is taken over by a new company (Omatra) just two weeks before we checked in, and to our luck the owner of the new management company was himself personally present to oversee the operations during the peak yearend season.
How much it matters, the attitude of the top management for it to flow down the ground level was experienced by us LIVE during these two days. It is an old property, bit run down too, but they have refurbished all the fittings in the bathrooms, Geyser, ACs, lights and lamps in the room, walls freshly painted, new curtains, furniture freshly varnished etc. in the last two weeks. Infact, the mattress on the bed, bed linens and bath towels were brand new, we were the first users as we could see them rip open the plastic casing and place them on the beds in front of us, we had to wait a bit to get our rooms allotted as the bed and bedding was begin set up with these new accessories. Well, we didn’t complain :-) ….
The owner-manager, Mr. Abbas went out of his way to see we were comfortable and happy with our stay, their food was delicious, all the common areas maintained neat and clean, they had plenty of out-door activities like basketball, badminton, bicycles, football, Frisbee, cricket bats etc etc.. In the evenings they lite a bonfire, snacks are served and some group games conducted. Swimming pool needed a little maintenance, but overall they are on the right path to turn this place around to a new leaf. They gave us a huge hall for two consecutive evenings with DJ and mike system etc., all to ourselves for conducting our own party and games (with an exclusive server stationed outside if we needed any snacks or drinks) and didn’t even charge us for this extra service. WOW!!
Resort is situated amidst whole lot of greenery and the Kabini river flows by it. Our rooms had a balcony facing the river, it was wonderful sound and sight of birds chirping, and river water flowing, but only disturbance was an army of monkeys running around everywhere.
Overall it was a very good experience unexpectedly as we were ready for the worse.
Mr. Abbas, you are doing a good job! You have the right attitude and approach to make this a success. All the best!!! Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
Stayed here for 2 nights with a group of 29 people including kids and elderly people. Due to low rating from many users we were bit concern about the property, but to our surprise we were proved wrong. Its a old property so I wouldn't say that its maintained perfectly and it is in a top notch but I would rate it as descent enough. Rooms are big and spacious and things were neat. Rooms also have balcony which overlooks the river stream but due to huge number of monkeys present in that area we need to keep the door closed. Aircons was working perfectly in my room but there were some complaints from other families which I guess were manageable.
Food was beyond our expectations and was truly great, thanks to Ambrish who made all the arrangements, it was value for money. Mr Abbas and Murali ensured that all the things were maintained nicely and were also kind and prompt to support us with all the needs. There are plenty of things for kids to play around. You have bicycles where even adults can use it and can go around the resort, badminton, basketball, swimming pool was also nice and clean. There is a nature walk where Mr Abbas conducts where he takes you around the area in the morning. Only drawback was the room service. We repeatedly had to call them to do things in the room like cleaning etc but I guess that will be duly rectified in future.
Lastly I would also thank Tauseef who was our initial contact at the resort who did all the booking for us and was in constant touch with me and made sure we were not disappointed. Overall it was a pleasant stay and all of us had a great time.
Few things to take a note
As per the info which we got the resort has been taken over by a new management from December. The resort is run by Omatra.
This resort is located in KA but is on the border of KL.
You need to travel 20 kms ( 45 min ) drive to the safari point. If you are looking for resort on Kabini river front then this property is not for you.
Long Post Alert!! But read it if you don't want your vacation to be unpleasant.
We checked in on 30th Oct and checked out on 1st Nov, 2019. The property is absolutely filthy, not at well kept and even the rooms are not maintained. The pictures on website are way old. My horror started when the room allotted to us had a leaking toilet, so after you have done your big Job and flush, dirty water comes out of the flush from the side and stays in bathroom, making it dirty and stinky. Everything had dust on it, considering its not in an area where dust is normal, it only indicated, house keeping was not done for long. The linen and bed sheets had a particular smell
You go on a vacation and are willing to pay high price, presuming you will get good service and comfort. This fails in both the parameters. The staff, is not very professional.
In Restaurant, the head Chef Amrish and guy in charge Pratap, don't know what hospitality means. Everything that you requested, even basic, the plain response was NO. In breakfast, could you help us with a Egg omelet, NO, eat whats there in Buffet. I had to request the General manager of the property to get us one omelet or even daal. The buffet had uncooked chicken being served to the Guest, when we pointed out, they took it away
Just to add and i believe its the audacity of the staff, where the attitude is take it or leave it, Buffet was never served on time, For e.g. if Dinner was from 8 PM onwards, till 8:30 - 8:45, they are just arranging and bringing dishes, that also uncooked.
I was travelling with a child, she wanted to swim in the pool, but the pool was so dirty, that i dare not send her in that. She was heartbroken, must have gone herself twice to the reception and requested for the pool to be cleaned.
I am really not sure what are they charging such an heavy price for. You are neither comfortable, quality of food in existing Buffet is bad.
I dont recommend this, definitely not for the price they are charging
