Amazing location on top of hill in forest, but the hotel has some issues.
- no elevators, luckily we had help to carry cases upstairs
- we had the room on top floor which is enormous (seems to cover whole floor) and had interesting flower design on arch around bed - however limited head room over bed
- outside temperatures were 30C and the single air conditioner unit in this room didn't manage to reduce temperature much - something like 25-27C inside, so I had to sleep on spare mattress right under the AC
- a bit hard to find staff when we wanted to eat dinner - food was average, with a hair in one dish, and the other one had only partly cooked egg on top of stew
- the 'zoo' was a single deer looking very thin
Pool was good but a bit cool - good size and amazing views, but couldn't get a key for locker in changing room, and some lockers were broken.
Breakfast was good - sat on a terrace with great views, and nice scrambled egg with cheese/ham.
Drive up to hotel is on a small tarmac road with some potholes - just take it slowly.
The hotel is in a picturesque location at the top of a hill overlooking the town of Pirdop, so don't expect to be able to walk into town from here.
Self rated as 4-5 stars, the hotel meets 3-3.5 stars by International standards.
The mini-bar is minimal (I had the choice of two beers), and in my 10 day stay, my room was not cleaned 3 times.
The hotel is comfortable enough that I'll return, though this is more through the limited choices available. It is quiet though, (most of the time, when the disco is not on. This has only happened to me once).
My boyfriend and I went on a relaxing in Pirdop. Everything was very nice, the town - small and beautiful, the hotel is situated on a very pleasent location - surrounded by nature. Everything was as I saw it on the website. The stuff was kind, room was big and clean, breakfeast was good and dinner as well. The only thing that disappointed me was the cold water in the pool, that's a thing they can work on.
On the positive side, the tennis court is very good and just outside of the hotel entrance. The swimming pool is separated into three sections, a small one for kids and relaxation, a larger one and the actual pool which varies in depth between 1.2 and 1.6 meters. The restaurant is also good and the food that is cooked upon request is tasty as well. The prices are OK as well a beer on average is €1.5; a meal is between €5 and €15.
On the negative side, the door keys are overused, broken and not always work, thus you need to go to reception to get another one. At the time of our stay the steam bath was being maintained and could not be used. The pool table was not usable either due to broken cues. The sauna was turned off as well so we did not have the time to wait for it to get to 80-90 degrees; the door handle was also mounted wrongly which restrained the door from staying completely closed. Some parts of the hotel showed signs of aging as well. There was also a night club which was closed and we had to stay in the restaurant, we were allowed to stay there until around 1:30 am.
The precooked meal for the organized dinner we had was not the best, thus is better to order à la carte even if you have to wait a bit longer to have it prepared.
I was in a Single Room which was extremely small and from my point of view not suitable for two people, much less at the price of €50 when the huge double room is at a rate of €65.
The service quality was also not at a 4 star level with staff often sulky and unhelpful.
Overall the hotel is very nice but needs some maintenance. I would certainly recommend it for a nice relaxing stay near Sofia.
This hotel is to find on a Mountain in Pirdop. The Position and the view of the Hotel is very beautiful but the Hotel is very Old-fashioned. Behause I don't like Old-fashion I didn't feel very comfortable. The breakfast was ok, the selection was not very big and there was no juice but.
Unfortunately there are no other Hotels so I have to Book this Hotel for the next Time again.
There is no Elevator. My room was on the 5.floor so it was no fun to carry the Suitcases up.
