Detailed Reviews
Mandy’s guest house was recommended by our neighbour who had visited recently, so we had reassurance before we booked! Additionally, we got instructions via email a couple of days before we arrived, outlining the processes to be followed upon arrival. All reassuring in these strange times.
We duly arrived, and were met by Mandy who gave us further information and showed us to our very nice room overlooking the very nicely kept gardens. Scrupulously clean room, with tea making facilities (and delicious cakes) and large en suite.
Breakfast orders were requested the night before from the laminated, sanitized menus. What wasn’t explained was that the portions are LARGE, so no chance of going hungry. Everything we had was delicious. Even the fresh fruit salad was outstanding - very fresh, plenty of different fruits, and plenty of it! Full English was very well cooked, hot, with plenty of choice, cooked to order.
Mandy was very friendly, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble, and had done a great job getting the guest house Covid compliant, so you do not need to have concerns on that at all. Outdoor seating is available in the garden, for that early evening BYO glass of wine if you wish.
An easy walk into the Warkworth village, and also only about 2.5 miles to Amble for a nice walk along the River.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and highly recommend.

It was actually in 2012 I was last there, but this site isn't letting me go back far enough. I never got around to doing this review at the time and although everything in my world has changed since and it would be difficult to stay again in the near future I would have no hestitation in trying the hospitality of Mandy in this great setting again in life allows it. I see little has changed since the last of my 2 stays having read a few recent comments.
The rooms were of very high standard in comfort, quality and cleanliness, excellent value and the breakfast service was just brilliant with a range to choose from and nothing too much trouble. I had some special gifts arranged for my stay from local businesses on the second occasion and was very grateful at the time for all the assistance on that.
The village itself had excellent places to eat within walking distance and the days out to nearby tourist attractions and places of interest on both visits were the icing on the cake.
Support this excellent host if you get a chance and fancy visiting a hidden gem in the north east, which will be ideal this year if you're in need of forgetting all the bad days of the last year.

+1
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Fairfield House, Warkworth. The breakfast was superb, with plenty of choice and freshly cooked. It really was delicious the best I have ever eaten. After our walks along the amazing Northumberland coastline, we had biscuits, tea, chocolate and coffee with fresh milk or UHT and different homemade cakes each day in our room. There was a bottle of water in your room which was replaced daily (Nice touch) our room was spacious, with fresh towels, dressing gown and overlooked the beautiful garden. Warkworth is a pretty village and Northumberland and its coastline are truly beautiful. Mandy is a Great host and certainly knows how to run a B & B. Would we return? The answer is a simple YES can’t wait to return.

We've been staying here every year for 12 years and in all of that time, it is by far the best place we have ever stayed and just gets better and better.
Mandy is the most fantastic hostess who has very high standards and really cares for her guests.
We feel so pampered with superb breakfasts and lovely little cakes left in our room every afternoon which are delicious.
The accommodation is as beautifully presented and immaculately clean as ever with every possible COVID precaution taken. We felt very safe. The value for money is excellent.
Thank you Mandy - to use another reviewer's phrase you are "simply the best".

Fairfield was recommended to us and I will repeat what was said to me. If I go all out on Fairfield B&B then lots of people will book and I will find it impossible to rebook ;-) Never a more true word spoken..Thank you Penny!x We have stayed in some lovely hotels, B&B's over the past 40+ years and left excellent reviews BUT nothing quite prepared me for our stay at Fairfield. Mandy is amazing and her attention to detail is 5+ Star. From arriving and experiencing the beautiful sitting room with home made cakes (made fresh each day) and a cup of tea or coffee we sat overlooking the veranda and stunning garden. Fridge supplied in the entrance with fresh milk for the teas and coffees and you can also chill your bottle of wine, which we gratefully took advantage of ;-). Our room the Peony was excellent in that Mandy had thought of everything and everything was spotlessly clean. Beautiful room. Breakfasts were a dream and they really are an all day breakfast. Set for the day exploring we did not need to eat again until late afternoon, early evening. Mandy you are truly amazing, you made our stay feel so special and we cannot wait to return. Thank you Paul & Lynn

From the first moment we were warmly welcomed by Mandy, who made sure that despite these difficult times with social distancing, we were made to feel instantly at home. You got the sense that nothing was too much trouble, and everything was explained in a professional manner.
Our accommodation, the gorgeous Sanderson room, was spotlessly clean, and overlooked a beautiful manicured garden.
As we entered our room, we witnessed the family’s resident duck flying into the garden below our window, where it perched on the water fountain. A warm welcome indeed.
We took our much needed cup of tea and Mandy’s homemade yummy shortbread, downstairs to sit on a bench in the gardens.
Thoroughly spoilt at breakfast with homemade granola, yoghurt and honey and the French toast with a delicious berry compote and maple syrup. Totally indulgent, but oh so delicious 😋. My partner’s full English breakfast was top class.
Unfortunately our stay was far too short, but we will be back! 5 stars 🌟 to you Mandy for your wonderful hospitality. We didn’t want to leave - thank you for making our trip so special 🙏.

We have recently returned from staying at Mandy’s gorgeous bed and breakfast.
We have had the pleasure of staying here many times since 2012.
The house and the hostess are very welcoming and the rooms are gorgeous with great attention to detail and the comfort of her guests.
The breakfasts are sublime and we will need to fast for several weeks now I fear!
Thanks again for a relaxing stay if a little hot as the weather was sizzling.
See you again in October for our autumn visit we cannot wait till we return to lovely Warkworth.

We have been visiting this beautiful area and staying at Mandy’s amazing home for over ten years. We cannot praise her highly enough. She is just the most amazing hostess. The rooms and house are outstanding with every need catered for. Rooms are large and spotlessly clean, beds are comfortable and bathrooms are well appointed. The breakfasts are the best we have experienced anywhere with plenty of choice and Mandy’s homemade cakes are scrumptious and an example of going that extra mile. Make sure you spend some time in the beautiful and relaxing garden. Would not hesitate in recommending to anyone. The house is situated on a quiet road around five minutes walk from Warkworth centre and Warkworth itself is perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful North East coastline. Can’t wait to return!

Just back from a two night stay at the stunning Fairfield House (not long enough!) A very warm and friendly welcome from Mandy who along with Kevin catered for your every need !! A fridge is provided in the hall with fresh milk for you to take along with homemade yummy cakes each day. A lounge and patio area for you to sit and admire the beautiful garden. Our room The Peony was beautifully furnished with quality linen and big white fluffy towels/robes and the large bathroom with underfloor heating .
A good variety of options for breakfast and my husband and I enjoyed the hearty cooked breakfast and also the french cinnamon toast ...a work of art in itself !!!
We had the best stay and are planning when to return again.
Thank you Mandy and Kevin.

Our friends booked Fairfield Guesthouse for my 60th birthday and it was a lovely treat . On arrival Mandy met us and showed us to our rooms which were absolutely stunning the views from our friends room of the gardens was amazing. We had a front room view which was of the surrounding countryside and what I noticed most was the peace and and quiet. The breakfast was delicious ( just too much) but shouldn’t complain. We felt very safe and the room was immaculately clean just loved the toiletries. The house is very beautiful and all the decorations are in keeping with its age. I would recommend a stay here if you are looking for a stay in Walkworth. Thanks Mandy
