My husband and I, along with 6 friends, visited Puerto Rico to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had an amazing time. Everything you need is right on the resort. All of our group wanted to give a special shout out to Kennedy and Jombie at the Caico Bar. They both provided exceptional customer service. We were blown away! Thank you Kennedy and Jombie!
We had a beach view room that was amazing. You could see the gorgeous blue water for miles from your balcony. The resort had a casino, a spa, several restaurants, etc. We had the best time here and it was just a short drive to see historic old San Juan. If you want to stay on the resort, you can take turns going from beach to pool and then enjoy the poolside bar. Our favorite restaurant on the property had the BEST waiter ever - Chayanne Ria. He took care of us and provided great service and really good food. The manager recognized us and gave us preferred seating after our first visit. In addition to the great restaurants, they also offer room service. We would love to come back here again and stay longer.
We hadn’t been to Puerto Rico for about 5 yrs due to the hurricanes and Covid. But as we live the temps in January, we finally came back. The hotel’s Beach is marvelous and the beach workers nicely set up our chaises with an umbrella There was a hot tub by the pool which my husband liked using and the restaurant ROOTS had tasty food. The grounds were beautiful and our room was large and very clean
Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful, clean, super friendly. Marbella server, and face of the hotel, Juan P. Diaz was superb!! Made our day, every day! Everyone was so nice. Everything was very clean. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a visit to paradise!! Bravo!!!!! Excellent in every way!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this resort and my first trip to PR. This was one of the best timeshare trades I have ever made. The unit was very clean and well furnished. It was exactly as advertised, a hotel-style room with a full size refrigerator, cooking options, and a safe. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked very well. The resort was beautiful with multiple pools, multiple restaurants, and excellent grounds. We did have trouble getting some of the on-site restaurants due to the peak season crowds, but there were always other options available. The on-site food was relatively expensive but not unreasonable for a Caribbean resort. We had a car so we were able to sample the off-site food options, but chose to have most of our meals on site because of the convenience. Food quality and service was very good. We took advantage of our car to stop at an offsite grocery store in order to stock up on snacks and beverages. Self-parking was easy and very convenient. There is a gift store onsite that is useful for convenience purchases but their prices were very high. The casino is small but the staff and fellow gamblers were very pleasant. It had the fun vibe of a local casino rather than the cruiseship, take all your money as quickly as possible, atmosphere. …
I feel compelled to write a review to address some things that I didn't see in other recent reviews. We travelled with two adults, an 18 month old, and a 3 year old. We booked through Jetblue vacations and were treated like royalty at check-in. First - What a BEAUTIFUL resort with (mostly) AMAZING staff! We arrived after a crazy traffic delay coming from the airport. The bellhop who greeted us offered amazing hospitality that we would see repeated over and over from other staff across the resort. Valet was great, too, but they held back until we got all of our crap out of the car (it took awhile, lol). Valet cost $20 per day vs $15 per day for self park. The car was always pulled up VERY quickly after we requested it. Check-in was seamless and an Ocean View room was available for us on the 6th floor. The room keys are bracelets, which is SUCH a smart idea. This was our first resort trip since pre-Covid, so I hope this idea is catching on at other resorts. Our 3 year old is still wearing hers as a watch. Ha! The room was SPOTLESS and had no musty smell. It took about 15-20min for our bags to make it up to the room, so bring anything urgent up with you and don't leave with the bellhop. They quickly brought up a crib and the extra pillows and towels we requested. The pools were amazing and plentiful. Our daughters started with the small kiddie pool, eventually gravitated over the to Margaritaville pool (this is great for kids with a splash pad and slow incline into the water), and by the end of the trip, they couldn't get enough of the waterslide and the big pool. The resort never felt crowded and there were always plenty of beach chairs, space in the pools, and plentiful hot tubs. The food was AMAZING! We kept to Roots, 5 o'clock Somewhere, and the Tiki hut. We also loved the Marabella buffet for breakfast, but alternated that with getting to-go food at Barista to bring to different places outside to enjoy. Roots was a great dinner spot because they had pizza for the kids and amazing adult options like whole snapper and octopus. Don't miss the nachos at 5 o'clock and the fish tacos at Tiki Hut. Sergio at Tiki Hut was one of our faves. The iguana feeding was a fun highlight, as were the iguanas who mulled around the pool area. Callie the cat over in Margaritaville was a hit, too! The spa treatments were amazing as well. My wife and I both got massages. Very unique and relaxing. The only DOWNSIDE to our stay were some missteps with housekeeping. We requested an early room cleaning each day because our little one needed to be back in the room for a nap in the afternoon. We had housekeeping for 4 days and two of the days they did not clean the room before noon as we requested at check-in. We were very disappointed in this, especially because we gave housekeeping a very large tip on the first day. We also had to repeatedly ask for more towels and extra soap/coffee pods. Usually a big tip at the start equals impeccable service for the rest of our stay. Overall, this was a great experience and we will hopefully be back!…
We were kicked out of our Airbnb by our host and we’re homeless. Diana Parrilla was so empathetic and care for our situation. She has a heart and wants to help. I appreciate her time and what she did to make this situation bearable. We will be forever grateful for this experience. Rio Grande is one of our favorite places to stay and customer service like this is one of the reasons why we love it here.
Truly one of the most beautiful resorts on the island. The food here is some of the best that I have ever had at a resort in the Caribbean. There's plenty of space on the beach and I never had trouble getting a spot at the pool, even though the hotel was fully sold out. I saw lots of families, couples, and even a few solo travelers, so great for all kinds of guests. Also only 30 minutes away from Old San Juan and less than 10 from El Yunque, 2 must-see destinations on the island.
Smoke and mirrors. The grounds are nice but that is where it ends. Completely misrepresented the hotel. Our check in was at 4pm per the confirmation, After traveling for 14 hours straight, our room still wasn’t ready until after 6 PM, meanwhile, valet took our bags when we pulled up to the front along with the car and then when we went back to get our carry-ons, they said no they couldn’t access them and we would find them in the room when the room was available…so we were stuck without any of our stuff, sitting on a bench for two hours, waiting for our room. They told us they would call us but never did. Finally when I called them for a third time over two hours later, they said, “oh, we tried to call you”, which was not true because we were constantly checking our phones because we were exhausted and chomping at the bit to get settled. Rooms had a horrible odor like stinky feet and our view was of the parking garage entrance which felt more like a stay at budget inn motor lodge, ( no offense Budget inn ), than a 5 star resort. Every time a car pulled in, the room lit up and the floor rumbled. In addition, when I booked I requested a roll away cot over a month in advance. They said to call when we got in and they would bring one straight away. Well, when we got here, they said they couldn’t accommodate that request. Not okay as that would have influenced what and where I booked our lodging. Also aside from the rundown conditions of the room, (e.g. tv going in and out, a/c only working on and off, broken bathroom fixtures), housekeeping inadvertently took my son’s sneaker and then got defensive when I inquired. They later did admit they took by accident but didn’t return it until the next day. He needed closed toe shoes for an excursion and it was too late at that point to figure something out/go shopping and we had to cancel. As a side note: when we got here, they gave us a bottle of champagne ‘ to toasted our vacation’, and then asked us to spend a couple hours of one of our vacation days touring their new property. When I said, I didn’t want to commit to spending one of our vacation days going on a tour of the hotel they asked us to think about it, I said I would but didn’t want to commit. they came to find us about 10 mins later and asked us again as we were walking around the grounds looking for a spot to sit and rest and said, then if you don’t commit now, you can’t have the champagne and then snatched it away😂 so cheesy-the champagne would have at least maybe made the 2+ hour wait to get our bags and get into our room more tolerable. Also, they charge for everything, even parking your car, (15-20 per day!). Food and drinks are overpriced and terrible. That aside our stay on PR will be one of the most wonderful memories with my family and I will definitely return. Next time we will just stay elsewhere. Grounds 4/5; room 2/5; customer service 0…
We stayed for 4 nights. Customer service was friendly and everyone was always willing to help, from the front desk to the valet parking employees, and the room attendant/clerks/servers. We got a room looking out towards the front of the hotel, above the iguana's area, and the views were awesome from the 5th floor. The room itself was as comfortable as in many other hotels, but I thought the bath was bigger than most (although they do need to change the shower head because the amount of water coming out was lame). The inside of the building was beautiful and the outside was even more so. You can walk on the beach, and enjoy the waver crashing and just the sound of nature. It was great to have chairs and umbrellas at the beach for no extra cost. The different dining options was a great feature for us, because we didn't have much time to go out and we could enjoy different foods every day. We tried the buffet at Marbella, and we enjoyed the variety of foods: made to order omelets, waffles and pancakes, and fruits, parfaits, baked good, deli items, bacon, sausage, and a lot of other things. We also had breakfast at the Barista cafe, that also carries baked goods. We dined at the Caicu Bar and Tapas, and I'd recommend the pork sausage sliders; service was slow (server took a long time getting our order and there wasn't many people at the bar). We had lunch and drinks at the Tiki Hut, and service was good and servers were friendly. We also had lunch/dinner/drinks at It's 5 o'clock somewhere, and I'd recommend the pork nachos. Drinks were very good, and Cristian made our trip even more enjoyable; he was very friendly, funny, and a pleasure to talk to (so if you go there, don't forget to say hi to him). There were different activities options like feeding the iguanas/turtles, salsa classes, and hair braiding; they also had DJ's, and music bands. Overall, we'd go again.…
