After looking for a place for me and my boyfriend in the US due to passport issues, I came across Gran Melia. The resort looked lovely so we went ahead and booked for a week. Red Level is the way to go! When we arrived, we were greeted with a welcome drink which was nice after hours of traveling. Danny...

Very nice rooms, the beach area was nice and natural, good breakfast. We bought a red level, but were not told much about it, and found out after that we had lots more services than we knew..... The Red Level pool area was very great, the fitness room was super.

Awesome resort.. We stayed during 2017 Valentine's Day period. Compared to other resorts we stayed thus far, Gran melia has some of the worst receptionists.. For example receptionist named Natalie was just plane rude and is spoiling the name of the resort.. Food is awesome.. Atmosphere is so cool for family stay to chill and enjoy.. And one important thing,...

First of all I had to admit that I booked this resort by chance because I had no time to decide, as this vacation was on short notice. I wanted sun and humid climate and here I am. So far I'm sure this is my first and last stay at Melia Hotels! The place is gorgeous, near to the water...

The resort staff was terrible, its like no one wanted to be there. I couldnt understand it maybe they are underpaid or not well treated. We wasted a bunch money staying there for my Birthday. The waiting for the golf carts to come pick you up was not timely. At one point i had to wait 45 minutes for someone...

Hotel was very nice overall. Beautiful beaches and pools. Food service was very good. Hotel staff was very attentive. Would've been interested in some additional nighttime entertainment, but other than that, we were fully satisfied.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the food so delicious. It was what we expected which is why I am giving it 4 stars. Nothing was above my expectations. I would come here again but only during off season or if there's some kind of deal.

Food somewhat overpriced. The Spa needs to get rid of ripped lounge chair cushions around the pool. Could have more activities for guests spread out during the day. Surprised the beach was so small. Secluded, not near anything. Rent a car, but beware if you don't rent from on the property parking costs a pretty penny.

This is a beautiful resort with all the marble, fountains, columns, statues, Iguanas, and service staff you might imagine. However, the logistics of staying here are cumbersome, hidden, and expensive. Travel from the airport to the resort is about $70-75 (cash only)…would be good to know in advance. Once on the resort you are sequestered unless you rent a car...

PLEASE HELP LOTS OF QUESTIONS!!!!!

I was able to purchase this hotel as a Groupon deal for my best friend's 40th birthday. We aren't traveling until June 18th and this will be both of our first times in PR. The photos took my breath away and the cost was reasonable enough for me to surprise her with the gift after having some pretty rough times lately. I am really hoping this much needed getaway gives us a chance to escape the blues.

I know about the deposit per night, but usually deposits are returned unless you use them. However it seems like people are stating that they are getting charged for ludicrous items. (Towels cost what?) Or complaining about the treatment and true condition of the property. Then some are saying its a dream come true.

We don't expect million dollar service, just a good, peaceful beautiful time. Without me feeling the need to hide a credit card statement from my husband. We are extremely excited to be taking a trip together (having our own families and work makes that hard). Some person even said they were charged an upgrade fee of $3k?!! That is what scared me enough for someone who has been here to hopefully set my mind at ease.

What is included in Red Level? Is it a better option than paying a la carte? We are blessed to have breakfast included in the Groupon (thanks!) but it seems the Red Level doesn't do much more than that?

We've been hoping to come to Puerto Rico for years. Any advice would be truly appreciated. This place is very very pretty. I truly hope its the paradise it appears to be in the photos! The pool alone is amazing!!

Also more about the beach? Do swim shoes help with the rocks or don't bother. How about excursions (budget friendly).

Thanks to everyone who replies in advance. I will be responding after our return.

Happy Travels!
