Im very hard to please. And to add with a few pre cooked lunch time experiances I was pretty skeptical. However its gorgous, staff are polite ,very helpful and extremly informative. The bar is a wonder to look at a choice of rooms to eat your meal in. Bit on the pricey side. But I didnt mind paying for the...

Visited the bistro with an old customer to catch up on old times.Nice service very calm atmosphere and enjoyable food.We only meet up once per year and always return here.Off the beaten track for some people but well worth the effort to arrive here.

The food was excellent, made more so by two excellent French waiters. Whatever I chose, he murmured 'perfect' which made me feel I'd passed an exam with flying colours. The two lounges had wonderful log burners and faded, old fashioned couches and chairs you could sink into. Fellow guests had been coming for years - always a good sign. For...

Have been to this hotel twice for lunch recently and both times were lovely. Food is well cooked and presented and most enjoyable. Prices are not bad considering the food is locally sourced and therefore fresh.

We had a room overlooking the garden to the rear which was spacious as was the bathroom .Super king bed was soft and comfortable Bathroom facilities were excellent with large sized bath sheets( not the usual ones that half cover and dry one ) good...

The restaurant is wonderful with so many lounges and snugs. The bistro dining is good and is to be highly recommended. The waitress was wonderful and recognised us immediately as did the owner and his wife. Thank you. The service was a little slow but totally understandable as we were late. The food was good and well presented, however, the...

We visited the Pheasant Inn whilst staying in the Lakes and opted to walk there for Sunday lunch which we'd booked in the Restaurant. There are two options; the restaurant (more formal) or bistro. We arrived early and settled for a drink in the lounge relaxing after our 2 1/2 mile trek to reach them! We were able to order...

A three night midweek stay with dinner every night. Fresh milk impressively brought when we requested extra milk for the tea making in the room, placed in an iced water bucket covered in cellophane. The first nights vegetarian (soufflé) and main course for me the carnivore (venison) where so good, we had them the second night too. Matching a half...

I'm basing this review on my meal rather than the party as a whole. I had the seabass lunch special in The Bistro. Wow wow wow. It was fabulous. Caper mash, gorgeous greens and the most divine lemony hollandaise. God it was good. Plate licking good. One of our party commented that the shepherds pie was very bland and under...
