We visited the Pheasant Inn whilst staying in the Lakes and opted to walk there for Sunday lunch which we'd booked in the Restaurant. There are two options; the restaurant (more formal) or bistro. We arrived early and settled for a drink in the lounge relaxing after our 2 1/2 mile trek to reach them! We were able to order... More

A three night midweek stay with dinner every night. Fresh milk impressively brought when we requested extra milk for the tea making in the room, placed in an iced water bucket covered in cellophane. The first nights vegetarian (soufflé) and main course for me the carnivore (venison) where so good, we had them the second night too. Matching a half... More

I'm basing this review on my meal rather than the party as a whole. I had the seabass lunch special in The Bistro. Wow wow wow. It was fabulous. Caper mash, gorgeous greens and the most divine lemony hollandaise. God it was good. Plate licking good. One of our party commented that the shepherds pie was very bland and under... More

Having enjoyed previous visits it was good to see that standards are still good. Nice choice of all three courses. Sticky toffee pudding was the tops, and I have had a lot of them in my time.the service efficient and friendly.

Starters where fine and upto there usual standard but the main course steak choice was definately not up to there normal standard. More like the thickness of a minute steak or a battered to death sirloin.

I have known this hotel for over 40 years, having worked here in my youth! I always promised myself one day I would be a guest where I had once worked. It didn't disappoint. The hotel has changed little over time which is one of its huge charms. It is so relaxing. The bar and lounges are exactly as they... More

We have stayed at the Pheasant Inn several times over the last 10 years but will not be staying again. The public rooms are still attractive in a shabby chic sort of way. The bar and lounge are cosy and there is a good selection of draught beers. Moreover the food continues to be very good (although in the past... More

I was brought a voucher for my birthday for dinner in the restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was equally as good. Lovely setting and well worth a visit for a special occasion. Highly recommended and we will be back
