We felt we had not visited the Lakes for over a year and wanted to start 2017 with a nice break. We managed to book 3 nights at the Castle Inn at an incredible rate including our little dog Ozzie. The room, facilities and food were all very good, staff all extremely friendly and nothing was to much trouble, The...

We arrived late (after 11pm) after a long drive. Our room was a good size but was the same temperature as the car park as there was no heating on. Once we put the radiator on it took an hour to heat the room. The bathroom had a very unpleasant smell of drains. The bed had only a blanket and...

Stayed here a few times when working in Carlisle, worth the commute. Stunning scenery, lovely atmosphere and nice food. Never had a particularly need to write home room, but I do know they have nicer. Only complaint I have of this hotel check in and check out has been a painful process. Would highly recommend and will be staying again...

We arrived for our Christmas break to check in at 3.00 our room was meant to be ready from 2.00 however we were told room was not ready it would be half an hour to 45 mins. When we eventually checked in at 4.00 our room No. 70 was found to be grubby and dark with a bad smell. We...

Easy to find and ample car parking. On this visit the restaurant was not open. The available menu was limited, though the food was very. Service was by the one lady also in charge of the bar. Although there were a good number of diners this lady did exceptionally well tending to all the tables and the bar so the...

We had a double room in the old part of the hotel and it was really nice with high ceilings, lovely period decoration and old fashioned feel. It was really clean and well presented; I would definitely go again.

We booked an executive room which was worth the extra money, sleigh bed, nice seating area, robes, water on arrival, fridge. After a long journey we had a friendly welcome, the bed was comfortable and the room clean and modern. There was an iron and ironing board and a fan for summer months. Lots of seating areas around the large...

Stayed here for one night for work purposes. Lovely hotel, nice location, clean room with huge comfy bed. I didn't use leisure facilities as forgot my stuff 😡 Ate in the bar area and best fish and chips I've tasted in a long time washed down by a lovely pint of John smiths. Must admit it's refreshing to visit a...

After deciding on a break somewhere, then narrowing this down to the Lake District it was an easy choice to go to this hotel. An excellent pool area with a sauna and steam room made it very easy. Quite easy to find and close to Keswick for shopping and a varied choice of places to eat.
