An absolute dream of a place. David & Mary could not have been more gracious and accommodating hosts. We were on our honeymoon and this was our first place to stay after a long journey from the UK. Not only did it not disappoint, but was probably our favourite place to stay of our entire month in NZ, north and...

We stayed here for the first few days of our honeymoon this past December. We traveled by car from Auckland to the Lodge. We got to see some pretty sights over the 3+ hour car ride, but nothing compared to the views at the lodge. From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome and at home. The food was...

It wasn't easy for us choosing a place to stay up in this area, we wanted something quieter, away from the tourist hubs, but central enough to day-trip out of. I think we found it. Huntaway Lodge is really like a large house, where guests are accommodated in various large bedrooms, centred around a large lounge/dining room and verandah area....

We stayed here on our mini-honeymoon and what a fantastic experience. The hosts were helpful, friendly and chatty, the food wonderful, and the views to die for. Our room was upgraded and the space well presented with beautiful furnishings and everything we needed. We enjoyed hours of 'watching the world go by' from the deck, room and jacuzzi. The fact...

We stayed at Huntaway Lodge in late February 2016 the house is beautiful the location stunning and David is a host without equal. Whilst we were there our meals were cooked by Min and were superb, so good that we ate at the lodge both nights we were there. The best stay we had during our trip to New Zealand

My fiance and I recently stayed at Huntaway Lodge when we travelled up north for a wedding. The lodge is beautiful and the views are stunning. Our room was very clean and comfortable. David was an incredible host and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable - nothing was too much trouble. We wish we could've stayed...

Beautiful lodge with amazing views. David was a wonderful host and did everything to make our stay memorable. Great spacious room in The Retreat with fantastic bathroom. The wonderful meals cooked by Mary Ann were delicious. The attention to detail was wonderful as we ate on the terrace watching the reflection of the moon in the bay.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of our 5-week trip and it was a perfectly relaxing way to end our holiday. The lodge is perched high above beautiful coastal scenery and offers privacy and all home comforts in stylish surroundings. Our hosts, David and Mary went out of their way to meet our every need and Min the...

This was our first stop over for 3 nights for our honeymoon. The place is simply stunning - the views across the ocean are spectacular! The hosts/owner David and his partner Mary were lovely and completely accommodating! We really enjoyed their company! Min the chefs food is so good! We had two dinners there and loved them. Breakfast in the...

What an experience, a great private lodge sitting on top of the mountain to give a view over the bays which are mesmerizing it was good to have a 4x4, the steep road up was easier with that rented car, anyways, large rooms with a contemporary interior, bright fresh colours, large windows, super bathrooms , big balcony and terrace plus...
