Have been here several times and generally the food is very good, and the bar and serving staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Met with friends on this occasion and opted for the Christmas dinner, our friends had the steak. The Christmas dinner was ok, nothing special, and I had prawns for a starter and again ok, but a bit...

Came for lunch at The Prince today and received an extremely poor Roast dinner. We first had to ask for extra gravy and potatoes (we were in at 12pm) as there was one potato per person. The food was completely tasteless, potatoes were dry and tasted like they had been deep fat fried. Nothing was seasoned and felt very much...

Firstly I have never stayed anywhere where I was made to feel like Cinderella! In by midnight or your locked out..no front door key..seriously.. The bed was the worst, one mattress on top of another. We felt like we were on a trampoline or water bed, couldn't sleep. In the morning when we had breakfast which was ok we couldn't...

Ok my partner's cousin is the chef here but I have always called a spade a bloody great shovel lol. So if I thought this place was crap, I would slate it (as I do occasionally with other places). When I read the online menu, I inotoallu thought it was a tad pricey but when I got there the food...

After strolling round the shops of the pretty village of Ampthill this morning, my sister and I treated mum to a lovely lunch at The Prince of Wales pub. We were welcomed and seated by the manager. The menu is varied with plenty of options, but unpretentious. When the food arrived we were very impressed with the quality, a good...

We had an impromptu lunch here and really impressed. Staff really friendly and when saw we had a 4 months old baby took as too a quiet table just right for us. My wife has a nut allergy and everyone was helpful and understanding. Food was simple but fresh and tasty. My chicken and ham hock pie was top notch....

I stayed at the Prince of Wales for one night as I was attending a wedding locally. The staff were very friendly and helpful during my dress emergency and did everything they could to help me fix my dress before the wedding :). Food was good - though we only ordered snack food and breakfast in the morning. Room was...

We stayed the night in this pretty public house. The bedroom was clean and roomy. Lacked a hairdryer. The pub had an odd smell to it -rather like wet dogs or worse! And during our stayed I was locked in the pub toilet twice! The locks need sorting out urgently.

“I think the pub only has 5 rooms one of which is a single. Ours was Room 5 although from what we saw they all seemed similar.”
