The Hotel Aristea was fabulous. It is run by an elderly Cretan lady and her daughter. This is a really traditional and authentic experience, off the tourist trail, which I cant recommend more! Great views over the mountains. Stay here if you are visiting Anogia. Traditional breakfast served in the morning.

Aristea, owner of this modern, clean, spacious motel is a wonderful elderly lady who welcomes you with hugs and smiles. making you feel home away from home from the moment you arrive. Her english is very poor but her kind heart and warm smiles transitions through the languge barrier. The apartment we had was two story..with balconies and great views...

This mountain village only 45 minutes from Chania & Iraklion has it all! Aristea is the owner (Yaiyia - grandmother of 8) who runs a clean, quiet, modern hotel with apartments with mountain views. I will be back!

The Aristea hotel is blessed with fine rooms and views over the valley, a gracious landlady, Aristea, who provides good breakfasts and all sorts of treats for her guests from her own garden especially in September. Thoroughly recommend for a couple of nights or more. Sarah and Nicholas who stayed a week

The hotel is managed by a fantastic Cretan family, warm and welcoming, so nice that you would really like to return here again. Everything is clean and made with good taste. Perfect views from the balconies. Nice if you know some Greek to enjoy the Cretan people entirely. :) The place and people are not spoiled by the mass tourism...

How can you forget the arms wide open welcome to all five of us from Aristea, along with a kiss on each cheek. Her namesake apartments are easy to find and right on the mountainside overlooking the valley below. (buy a six pack at one of the local groceries and watch the sun set) The apartment was perfect for the...

The setting is lovely—practically on top of a small mountain overlooking a valley. Even at the end of June, the breezes and altitude made for relatively comfortable temperatures. We reserved a room three to four weeks in advance through Booking.com. It was described as a spacious double room with a balcony and a room refrigerator as well as free private...

What a nice, unexpected discovery this was for us! After driving for a couple hours in the mountains, we ended up in Anogia when the sun was about to set. Instead of driving to Heraklion in the dark, we decided to spend the night here. We randomly stopped at Aristea Hotel, and the owner (Aristea herself) walked out and welcomed...

We would highly recommend this place for the hospitality shown to us by Aristea. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. The "hotel", if it could be called that, is set on a village street with attendant traffic but our room faced away from that and the views were amazing. Our breakfast consisted of all fresh ingredients - bread, eggs,...

I recommend it highly; I'm not much of a mountainous type (we stayes there whilst touring Crete); Ms Aristea, the owner, was amazing, chatty and jovial. The views were amazing and when it come sto cleanliness this hotel is really on another plane altogether.
