We only spent a single night at the Takatu Vineyard and Lodge but wished we'd planned at least a two night stay. Large spacious suite with an upscale spa-like bathroom, complete with huge soaker tub with a vineyard view were a relaxing treat after a long drive. Host even made us dinner reservations in Matakana and arranged a taxi for...

From the moment we opened the door to our room it was very clear that we had found a very special place stay . Not only were we faced with the first class room comforts and quality ,but one dozen fresh roses ,and the same number of strawberries completed the wonderful room Thanks to our host Joanne we served the...

We had a lovely night at Takatu lodge for a family members birthday. The service was great, the rooms spotless and all the little extra details were spot on. Joanne made us feel welcome and put on a delicious breakfast after our night out the night before. The views were gorgeous over the winery and out to sea. A great...

Our third visit. We hadn't realised that the ownership had changed hands, so it was a surprise to meet Joanne - a happy surprise, she is welcoming and warm. The standards have been maintained, with some new furnishings and fittings in the rooms. The real pleasure lies in the scenic location, total peace of the surroundings, pleasing aspect from the...

We arrived to a warm welcome and a breathtaking view from our gorgeous spacious room. The lodge is small, four rooms, and we had a sea view suite , huge picture windows giving onto neat rows of vines, and then the ocean. The lodge has an architecturally dramatic main dining and living room , with surround sound and a huge...

We stayed at Takatu Lodge in February for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and absolutely loved our time there. Tranquility, peace and beauty are the words that spring to mind. Joanne was the perfect host and pre-empted our every need and wish. Breakfast was simply amazing and luxury was to be had at every turn. We will definitely be returning. Thanks...

This is a very peaceful, tranquil place. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and very comfortable and included a complimentary bottle of the vineyard's wine. The owners are very hospitable and obviously 'foodies'. They cooked the most delicious breakfast in the main living area/kitchen of the house which too is beautifully decorated. I would definitely recommend this as a perfect...

We spent two nights at the lodge and it was a delight, the setting is fantastic, the lodge beautifully designed and if your looking for tranquility its superb. Joanne (manager) is lovely, relaxed, makes a cracking healthy breakfast and ensures everything runs smoothly.
