Les gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to room 5 a lovely room with great views and an enormous on suite. The room was comfy and cozy and clean. Great hot chocolate and earl grey tea bags in the room was a nice touch. Les is very helpful in directing you to good food and also good... More

We stopped here on night two of riding the Hadrian's cycleway west to east. It's a little off National Cycle Route 72 but only a short pedal down from the ruins at Housesteads. We arrived near dusk having not sorted ourselves dinner. It's not really riding distance to a pub for dinner (and definitely not if you're on foot) but... More

The proprietor is very warm and welcoming. The accommodation is not. No hot water and heating only on briefly . Very dated fixtures and fittings. Advertised as a four star B&B ??. Its just above a hostel. We stayed two nights and had a vehicle. Its located right on the military road very close to the wall. If you are... More

I arrived after 7 hours trekking on Hadrian's Wall going East to West. I was shattered and Les offered to prepare a dinner. The fish pie, fresh vegetables and french bread went down a treat. The B and B has a communal lounge with a television. Formula One was on the television and Les made sure his guests felt at... More

We stayed with Les, the proprietor, at the end of our 4th day walking Hadrian's Wall, and I have to say it was a one of a kind B&B. Les is a great guy and even though he's probably 65+, he's still a great host! When we were staying here for instance, one of the other guests managed to lock... More

Les is the proprietor and a fancier of classic race cars like his Ferrari. He was a great host and he and all the guests stayed up late with wine [Les is a single malt lover which reflects some Irish roots]. Comfortable room with large bath. Very cozy man cave to socialize in. Easy to get to by the AD122... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to enable us to cycle and walk round the stunning surroundings. I've never had such a peaceful sleep in silence with a comfy bed! I've never checked into a b and b before and not given a key, everything was based on trust including how many drinks we sank on a night. It was... More

I was looking for a place to sleep, but everything was full. Here I could put my tent in the garden and use the garage to put my motorbike. The people are very frendly. I feel very lucky to find this place. It is a good place to stay. I am. In the evenong I could visit the livingroom and... More

Arrived too early for Les (timed our walk to beat the forecast afternoon rain) and was told to catch the bus into Hexham and come back later. Upon our return on the 122AD bus after a few G and T's we were greeted by a much more relaxed Les. Later that afternoon as the rain set in I have never... More

Our stay was very eventful and pleasant. Les is a great host with lots of stories and charm. Stayed for 2 nights. Room was clean and modern. Tea making facilities were adequate but needs milk in rooms. Les provided a jug of milk when asked. Met some wonderful people from around the world doing different trips along the wall. Ideal...
