We had previously stayed at this hotel when it was called Casa Cook Kos. We fell in love with the architecture, the design, the food and the location. We were a little concerned when it was taken over by OKU, because we didn't think it would be possible to make it better... How wrong we were! Where the food before was very good, the food now is incredible. They have added an Asian twist to the menu, but it still feels Greek under the skin. Not only is the menu mouthwateringly good, the execution is outstanding. Each plate is worthy of a photograph, and the gorgeous appearance of each dish is only beaten by the flavours and textures as you start to eat. If you're a meat eater, then the pork belly beats anything I've eaten anywhere before, and the short ribs.... Incredible. The tuna is a bowl of beautifully seared chunks of flavour in a perfectly balanced sauce, and the crispy shrimp... *chef's kiss*! In terms of accommodation, we have twice stayed in a Junior Swim-up Suite, which we loved, but this time we stayed in the Suite with Private Pool. If your budget can stretch to it, the private pool is really pretty special, and we would definitely recommend it for the extra space in the room. That said, the main pool is a beauty, and we saw a lot of guests preferring to spend their day down on the beach, so my guess is any room that fits your budget will be great. The other thing to mention about the rooms, and the hotel in general, is the style. The whole hotel, inside and out, is stunning in its cool greys, teak floors and furniture, and polished concrete finishes. The rugs, light shades, personal hotel bags and cushions are perfectly toned woven grass. It's almost impossible to take a bad photograph anywhere in this hotel. In fact, we loved the design so much, we based a bathroom on it at home! The final thing to say about OKU Kos is about the team. On our previous visits, there were some issues with slow service, and if you read the older reviews you might see some people mention that. I'm so pleased to say that this one little problem has gone! Every member of staff has been exceptional. There are too many to mention them all, even if I remembered everyone's name, but I must mention Feri, who I believe is a big reason that the service in the restaurant is top-notch now, and went out of his way, every day, to make sure that we had the best possible service. We have found our little piece of paradise in Europe, and we can't wait to come back next year.

My partner and I were just saying this is probably the best hotel we’ve stayed at. The resort is adults only and, one reviewer mentioned before that it’s like living in an Aesop bottle. Couldn’t agree more. The design of the hotel is gorgeous, service is impeccable, breakfast is plentiful and varied. On the last day I realised I think they can also do a la carte omelettes and such but we didn’t even need that as the buffet was delicious. The staff is welcoming and very friendly, a special shout out to the spa - Faye has magic hands and the Hippocrates massage is out of this world. Make sure to prebook though, she gets full rather quickly. Try not to miss the yoga in the mornings - it takes place on the beach and the teacher is fantastic. Stretching while listening to the waves is an unforgettable experience. The restaurant, while not particularly Greek has amazing food and I can see the appeal of the half board. However the restaurants the staff recommended were fantastic as well. Overall I cannot recommend it enough and we will make sure to come back. I already miss their reception cats!

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Food is excellent and front of house staff, particularly Eva, are fantastic. Location is a bit remote so defo need a car. I spent a fortune on cabs. Not a great place to go solo. Very couples oriented. And I felt pretty invisible while there. I think they kept waiting for my ‘other’ to come sit. But breakfast was service was terrible waiting to order a coffee while everyone got served around me. I had to ask every morning. Also the pool is way too small for the size of resort. And if it’s windy and you can’t beach it, you’re stuck unless you ‘reserve’ a pool side chair with towels before breakfast. They need a system to ensure people don’t hold unused chairs. Some were empty for hours. When I dared to sit in one the ‘owner’ came from their breakfast yo say it was ‘theirs’. In the end I left two days early as I just felt too uncomfortable. And as it was windy nowhere to sit by the pool:(

This is such a cool hotel, it's like living inside an Aesop bottle in terms of style! From the decor, to the food and the staff and oh my God: the massage with Faye was heavenly! I am in my second trimester of pregnancy and Faye really put me back together, I had so many aches and my skin was not great, 5 days at Kos OKU with the massages, freshest Greek ingredients at every meal and the healing sea air of Kos (home of Hippocrates!) really fixed me. The yoga class with Olga in the open air was so relaxing. I'm a whole person again, my skin and my back are so much better. Thank you, OKU KOS!

Incredible hotel! Gorgeous amenities and exceptional staff. The hotel describes itself as “barefoot luxury” and this absolutely hits the mark. The property is gorgeous, well maintained and just very inspiring to be around. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with half board. Staying in 701 have us the most incredible sunset view, I think it was the best spot on the island! We loved it so much we made friends and invited them to enjoy it with us. That’s the kind of place the hotel is, very easy to meet people. Absolutely do the half board, very reasonable for the quality of food you get. The included breakfast is also exceptional - the variety of foods and the free flowing coffee and juice you can order. I would usually have 2 breakfasts and that would take me until late in the afternoon. The massage was literally one of the best I’ve ever had- book early because she fills up fast! And the most incredible hidden perk is that if you bring your laundry to front desk they do it for you at no charge! (Not dry cleaning, regular wash) The staff made every effort to make your stay enjoyable, many felt like friends by the end of the trip. My husband also enjoyed the daily free yoga. If there was one suggestion for improvement it would be to add more treadmills and weights to the gym. We were there at end of season and the hotel was quiet, however there was still a wait for equipment. THANK YOU OKU for a wonderful trip, we loved it!
