Overpriced even extortionate and not what it claims! I was looking for a romantic, characterful and historic place to stay. I paid a hefty price for one of the rooms in the hall 'Barnet'. Historic yes but also run down and tired looking. Do NOT go by the pictures on the website or in the brochure. In reality Soulton Hall...

For those interested in British history, this house is a dream! The property has a fascinating history - enthusiastically shared by the owners. The room we had was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and the well-appointed rooms have not been over-modernized, lending a truly historic ambience to the house. The Ashton family were very friendly and happy to share stories...

If you love history and peaceful surroundings this is the place for you. If you want a modernised corporate feel historic country hotel, then this is not the place for you. This is a family owned elizabethan era hotel attached to an arable farm. We spent an extremily pleasant 3 nights at Soulton. We found the Ashton family to be...

We discovered Soulton Hall quite by chance needing to stay near Telford for two days with our dogs. We were delighted to find it is a unique and marvellous establishment! We were in one of the Carriage House rooms with a sitting room attached. Some of the rooms in the main house look amazing but this was perfect for us...

Had a lovely 3 days here last April, the house is very majestic but big & cosy inside. The evening meals were first class and well worth the money. Definitely recommend a weekend here, it is still family run and has remained in the same family.

My most recent stay at Soulton Hall was for a weeklong visit with two large dogs. The Ashton family are fantastic and the food is exceptional. Guests become part of the family.... The garden rooms are beautiful. Soulton is a well kept secret and I would thoroughly recommend this house for anyone planning a special occasion or in need of...

We held our wedding weekend celebrations at Soulton Hall on an exclusive rental. A truly magical weekend in September. Its February now and everyone is still talking about the beautiful buildings, the landscape, excellent food but in particular the warm and generous hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and we were all made to feel very special Thank you.

A delightful country house, run by an incredibly relaxed and friendly family. We had three delicious days, superb food, cosy afternoons reading by the fire, and sumptuous beds. We were very well looked after. Couldn't ask for more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Soulton Hall and would be happy to recommend it to everyone. Everyone made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Hill Room which was amazing. Dinner was great too, and the only bugbear was the weather which can hardly be blamed on this delightful place. We'll...

I have stayed several times over the past few years - both in the main house and in the Keeper's Cottage. The main house is a really special experience, with gorgeous old rooms complete with their wonky charm showing their hundreds of years of history. Yes, the windows aren't sealed to modern standards (that's part of its charm), so you...
