Awsome. Only downside was shuttle stops at 9.30pm which means you cant relax for fear of missing it. Great friendly bar called Drop Off is worth a visit. We stopped here for breakfast most mornings before our English ski lessons at Action Snow Sports.

This hotel is good value with big comfortable (western) rooms with lots of storage. Staff were helpful and friendly. Not ski in/ski out, but a complimentary shuttle runs you up to the Madarao Kogan Resort, where you can also use your meal vouchers in their restaurant, and onsen in one of the best onsens in the area (outdoor section highly...

Just left Mon Ale hotel and we had a great time. As per previous reviews, the hotel western rooms are spacious, with lots of storage, ours had an ensuite. Great accommodation! Breakfast was ok. The onsen is great too although the one at the kogen hotel has an outside bath - awesome when it snows! The staff are great and...

This was our first trip to Madarao (last Jan 2016) and the Mon Ale was a fantastic find. Huge rooms by any standard and very reasonably priced for a Japanese ski resort. Separate sleeping and lounge section in our western room, beds very comfortable and nice snowy vista views. Also loads of cupboard space which is extremely rare for Japanese...

Terrific value and very friendly and attentive staff. Madarao is great mountain - especially if you buy the ticket that includes Tangram. Shuttle up the hill to the bigger hotel is very easily arranged and the walk to the slopes is easy. Staff always prepared to help. We had a western room with heaps of room. Excellent breakfast

The main hotel was booked out so we stayed here. It was a great stay. The room was huge even compared to Australian standards. You could quite easily spend 10 days in the room it was big enough. You can pretty much snowboard straight to the ticket office after walking a short distance. Breakfast is good with a variety of...

We stayed as a group of 10 and had a wonderful time. The shuttle to the other Hotel was always prompt and the front desk staff were happy to call. All the staff both at the front desk, for breakfast and dinner were extremely helpful and the language barrier was always overcome. They could not go out of there way...

Mon Ale Madarao was very quite during the week and got busier over the weekend. We loved staying here, the front desk staff were amazing, always so helpful and friendly. There English was a bit limited but was never a problem. We enjoyed the Onsen every night after skiing. There is a lounge area adjacent to reception and another area...

We had a very happy stay here. The staff were wonderful - always helpful and very enthusiastic when we practiced our Japanese. The rooms were large by Japanese standards and had everything you could need - including tea-making facilities. The onsen was a real treat too. The breakfast buffet was good but we preferred to go to their main hotel...

“Our room was large and comfortable - it had a separate area with a double bed and a lounge area that could be converted into an additional two single beds. It was quiet and well-appointed.”
