It was not without some concern we approached Myoko without directions to the hotel The driver on our transporter Nagano Snow Express solved it in a generous way of driving all the way to the entrance. The reception was flawless, lots of information, offered discounts on lift tickets and more. We chose the western style japanese room with sitting area... More

We have just come back from Wakui hotel. Here are pros and cons: Pros: 1. Good location about 10min walk to Kanko and 2-5min walk to Onsen slopes. The good location means you do not need a shuttle bus. We sent our kids to Myoko Snowsports which is on the Kanko side and we did not walk to the onsen... More

We stayed with the very friendly owners of the Hotel whilst skiing the area just prior to new year. The facilities were generous by Japanese standards and the on site Onsen was an added bonus. The hotel is located a 5 minute walk away from the Akakura ski field lifts and once there, both side of the mountain can be... More

The rooms were very spacious and quiet. We chose a western style room with conventional beds but it had a very comfortable tatami area to sit and make tea. The drying cupboard was great for ski gear too. Fresh robes and towels are replaced daily. We loved the onsen area and showered here rather than in the small ensuite. The... More

Spent a few days at this hotel. Very convenient location- 2 minutes walk to a chairlift and 1 minute walk to the Main Street of the village Our room overlooked one of the ski runs on the Onsen side which was lovely. The room had a single bed and 3 futons were laid out which was great for our family's... More

This hotel is very convenient when skiing Myoko Kogen. Host Daisuke was very helpfull and very pleasant. Rooms were fine with every thing that you need and very clean. Breakfast was sufficent. Japanses or Western. Close to plenty of restaurants. Was fabulous having the onsen underneith the hotel for soaking after a long days skiing.

We moved to this hotel after one night in a very disappointing hotel a few doors down, that cost over 3x the price and was less than a third as enjoyable as Wakui turned out to be. Where the last hotel was dark, dingy, impersonal and overpriced, (and parking was not included, about a mile away from the hotel), Wakui... More

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. The host Daisuke was fantastic. We enjoyed the food and the traditional tatami room was very comfortable. The hotel is very clean. Service was above and beyond even in helping us get our car out of a snowbank. We loved the onsen downstairs. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A very convenient place to stay when skiing in Myoko Kogen, benefiting from a great location (close to slopes and a short walk to restaurants/rental), a high grade of service (pick and drop off at the station) and access to an own Onsen in the basement. Other benefits with this place is large storage for skis/poles/boots and an English speaking... More
