Very nice location in the mountains with cool weather but please note the amenities are limited. Stayed here in April 2024 for couple of nights and although there is a pool advertised, there is none. The pool is now a fishpond. Also, Wi-Fi does not reach a lot of the rooms. The beds are rock hard. It is also very dark in the premises at night. I was asked to turn off my outside room light at 10 pm by security and the outside area of my building was pitch black which made me feel unsafe. I don't think I will be back.

This place was a great find. Initially we wanted to spend time at the beach but we were too late booking over Easter. We found this place in the mountains and i am glad we did. The rooms are basic but the grounds, the location and the restaurant are great. My friends also had a massage at the Spa and declared it the best they had had in all of Central America.

The staff are very helpful and the peace, tranquility and mountain air is delightful. The small town nearby of Concepcion de Ataco is also delightful with lots of places to eat.

I stayed here with a tour group in Sept. 2013 for one night. A high wall surrounds the property with a huge wooden security gate opened by an armed guard. The place looked very nice from the outside, sort of a western flavor with a long porch with wooden chairs. Upon opening the door to my room, I was almost knocked over by the strong musty/mildew odor that hit me. All the bedding and towels smelled the same way and they felt damp. There was no AC or heat in this hotel, and everything stays damp. There was a ceiling fan. My room had two double beds, a desk and chair, luggage rack, closet, flat screen TV and a mirror. There was no sink stopper nor was there any hot water at the sink, that I could determine. The floor was tile and two walls were painted bright orange. The mattress was very hard and felt old as there was no "spring" to it. The pillows were very flat and lumpy. I couldn't sleep because of the very heavy, damp feel of the quilt and blanket and the strong musty odor of everything. There was a little hot water in the shower. I turned the tap all the way to the hottest setting and there was no need to turn on the cold tap.

The included breakfast was buffet style and served in a separate huge building that probably held several hundred people. Coffee was luke warm and undrinkable. I returned to my room and was almost knocked over again by that terrible musty/mildew odor. All my clothes smelled the same.

I can't comment on the value of the room as it was included in the tour package. As far as location, I have no idea where it was located.

Do not book this hotel. The rooms are filthy! They had a housekeeper coming daily but she did not sweep or cleaned the room. The room had a musty smell and there were a lot of bugs. We ended up leaving a day earlier because we couldn’t take the damp smell and all the bugs and spiders in the room. we asked the hotel manager for a refund, for the unused night, and she stated that it wasn’t possible because she had closed count for the day 🤣 however, she could give us credit to come back!! Which we are never doing. The food is gross and overpriced. The free breakfast was the same desayuno tipico with no substitutions and coffee only. Additionally, the spa was shut down, no massages and the pool was full of algae and dirty water, it was gross. Do not waste your money staying here please.

We rented two main cabins for $150 USD each per night. Door knobs came off, old dirty stoves; old dirty fridges; bathrooms leaked water; faucets were lose; found clothes and food from prior guests; screw sticking out on coffee table, beautiful grounds but incredibly bad rooms. Go somewhere else better. Espero que los encargados lean esta opinión. Les falta muchísimo para cobrar $150 USD por noche o cualquier otra cantidad. Nunca mas me hospedaría en este lugar. En beneficio de sus empleados y su negocio; espero cambien.

I stayed here for 6 nights with a group from Habitat for Humanity. Our rooms were clean, it's always damp here, the laundry service was usually prompt and really, it was pretty good value. Our stay included breakfast and dinner, always plentiful and generally quite good. The grounds are really pretty, and the staff were very friendly. There were several other groups here on various evenings, and the noise level was pretty intense. However, it all quieted down by 10pm and it's hard to complain about that!

If you don't like dirt, bugs or mildew, avoid the place. I was there on a group tour, so somewhat trapped there.

When unwrapping the hand towel in the bathroom, a black bug about 3/4" long jumped out and promptly disappeared. (I slept with that door closed.) Another person in the group saw something like a millipede in their bathroom.

When I walked into the room I smelled mildew. I thought it was just related to the walls. Unfortunately, when I went to bed, I discovered it was on the mattressw, and my nightclothes had that smell when I awoke the next day.

I knocked down at least one cobweb from the wall. The bathroom floor and walls were dirty.

A group of 14 of us stayed at Hotel Alicante while we were in El Salvador for a Habitat for Humanity trip. The timing of our trip wasn't the best as we were there during Tropical Depression 12-E. Because of mud slides on the roads, we were not allowed to leave the hotel grounds. The service of the people at Hotel Alicante was above and beyond our expectations. They took excellent care of us when we lost power and water. They were friendly (even without speaking the same language)....a sanrisa says a million words without speaking a single word. The rooms were clean and the food was excellent. Thank you to all of our new friends at Hotel Alicante! Granted we did entertain them with our card games and Kareoke!!

This is simply a beauty tucked up in the mountains of El Salvador. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the service is great. The restaurant served delicious local delicacies that kept us coming back. The grounds and landscaping look like a picture postcard! The rooms are sparse, but comfortable. Free internet and great coffee. The hotel has a petting zoo, an aviary, spa and gym on the grounds - thanks for a great visit.

I stayed one night and though the location is amazing and the gardens are spectacular, the room was a let down. The bathroom in the room I stayed in (Room #1) was tiny and very uncomfortable. There was a smell like humidity in the room that did not dissipate. The food was good and I didn't get a chance to use the swimming pool. I have been back to that hotel but only to stop for lunch, not for another stay. I would stay there again, but would consider it because there are competitive offers nearby.
