I'd rather like to give this place 3.5 stars because it's not an "average" kind of place to stay. It seems to be trapped in its own past, and as such it's rather fascinating. In fact, you would swear that the colours have leeched out, and you are actually in a black-and-white movie from the 50s. Our party of four...

This hotel is in the centre of a coffee-growing estate on the outskirts of the small El Salvador town of Ataco (famed for its colourful murals on houses), part of the scenic Ruta de las Flores. The hotel was built around the 1930s and has had wings added to accommodate more rooms; however, there are only 6 rooms and you...

This coffee estate on the Ruta des Flores has a 1930s house now converted into a 6 bedroom guest house. The rooms are all pleasant, with two or three beds and a simple but effective shower with very good hot water. It's clean and slightly run down in a rather appealing way. There is a simple but enjoyable fixed breakfast...

This isn't a hotel, more like a British B&B where you're met on arrival and then left to it. It's a rather rambling property, quite characterful, and set in lovely grounds and next to the coffee processing plant. When we stayed there was no bar facility, but there seemed to be no problem with drinking beer that we'd brought ourselves....

I didn't stay at the hotel but it is nice to know it exist. My guide bought me here as part of my "Ruta de las Flores" tour in El Salvador. This is not only the property of a hotel but is the property of a coffee factory which processes coffee for exportation and to be sold domestically. I enjoyed...

We stayed in one of the rooms in La Casona (the farmhouse). Big room with big bathroom, unfortunately too farm from the entrance to have wifi signal in the room (no problem to use wifi in the study). Very pleasant welcome (although the place was still busy after having organised a wedding the previous day). Gardens are very beautiful. Breakfast...

My friend and I just spent the weekend in the Casona (big house) of the Finca del Carmen. The Casona is separate from the hotel. It is just as it sounds - a very spacious old Finca house still furnished as the owners furnished it decades ago. It is like stepping back in time. Our room was clean and spacious...

A friend found this coffee finca online and it would be a semi-involved day of travel to get there. But we figured it would be cool. It was straightforward to get to on chicken buses. We got to the beautiful plantation and we were the only two scheduled for the tour (we called ahead). $5 for a 1hr tour of...

A great & convenient place to stay just outside of Ataco town (5 mins walk away). We stayed in La Casona in a spacious and comfortable room with ensuite bath. The gardens and social areas are gorgeous and Dora the housekeeper was really lovely in helping us find our way around town. To be honest the only reason I am...
