Scarlett Villas is a hidden gem!
We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. We loved the property and visiting the local area. The property has been renovated over the last few years and it looks wonderful! The owner has made upgrades such as a outdoor yoga deck, outdoor workspaces, a games area and a lounge nestled in a heavily treed area with water running close by. The pool is located in a beautiful setting with evening lighting, gazebo and lounge chairs on the deck. The pool is well kept and clean. The villas are nicely updated and clean, with outdoor patios and kitchens. All the staff are excellent, in particular Casey (owner), Helder (manager), Kenneth and Carlos are extremely friendly and always offering to help you in any way they can. Helder is always available to answer questions, help with information on local attractions and address any concerns. The property has a beautiful setting and we always felt safe and comfortable. There are many great local restaurants and the beautiful beaches and waterfalls are only a short drive away. I would highly recommend staying at Scarlett Villas!

Villas Santerras

Ojochal

Christmas at Villas Santerras 2019

735867910

Our family of 9 have just returned from an amazing 10 day vacation in Ojochal at Villas Santerras.

Peter and Carlos and Meg made sure everything was to perfection upon our arrival to the 3 villas we had booked. The resort was immaculate and just the perfect size for us.

The pool was clean and we all spent many hours during the day or evening being refreshed.

Although each 2 bedroom villa came equipped with a fridge, sink, microwave, cooktop, etc., We found the Abba Jabba villa was best to accommodate our gang for our meals. We arranged to prepare our own breakfast and lunch each day but set up a meal plan with Peter and Carlos to purchase, cook and serve our evening meal each day. The meals were great right down to the Ceviche appetizers. It was a bonus to return to Villa Santerras each day after a busy day at the beach, fishing, snorkelling, surfing or just exploring beautiful Costa Rica via our rental cars.

We were then able to think about the beautiful sunset and our cocktail hour with no worries. Pura Vita!!!!!

Carlos even brought a bunch of bananas from the property. We made frozen banana treats for the kids, banana daiquiris for the adults and even cereal with bananas for breakfast!!!

We enjoyed watching and listening to the howler monkeys swinging in the neighbouring trees providing hours of entertainment.

The family also enjoyed being able to walk 5 minutes from the resort to a nearby waterfalls.

It was very convenient to get to many nearby restaurants and markets and bakery in Ojochal.

Peter became a new friend to our family and we look forward to returning and enjoying the hospitality of Villas Santerras in the future!

Amazing property for a one-night, week, or long-term getaway! I live in Manuel Antonio and was looking for a place to get away for the night and go to Citrus for dinner without having to worry about driving home afterward. We checked in and the manager, Aaron, recommend a spot to watch the sunset before our dinner reservations (which they are happy to make for you), The villas are clean, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped so if someone did want to stay for a week or long term and not go out for meals, will not have any trouble cooking on their own.

The hotel has had a number of major upgrades, like a covered lounging area, with pool tables, benches, and gorgeous jungle views. There is an abundance of wildlife, from birds to howler monkeys.

Location wise, it is mostly paved all the way to the hotel, and 4x4 is not necessary.

100% recommend Scarlett Villas, you will not be dissapointed.

Beautiful, clean, and welcoming villas! I just returned from a week's vacation here and I'm already planning my trip back. The villas are nothing but perfect. The staff is incredibly friends, and we truly felt like family. We went on a girls' trip which can sometimes be unsettling when you are in an unfamiliar place, but we all felt so comfortable and safe the entire time. Helder (staff) is amazing and is always available if you need anything, including giving recommendations for restaurants, and things to do.

The rooms are clean and comfy, and they each have a small kitchen with the yummiest Costa Rican coffee, which is perfect to drink on the patio in the morning. They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers and have separate towels for the pool and shower.
The yoga deck is stunning, and you can even message the hotel and they will set up massages for you. (highly recommend this)
The saltwater pool is perfect to cool off in during the day or even to take a late-night swim in.
12/10 recommend to all travelers!!!

This special hotel is off the beaten path in the middle of a jungle teeming with wildlife that allows you to get away from city life and reconnect with nature. The property is remodeled, well-maintained, and full of desirable amenities that include friendly and attentive staff to keep you happy. I stayed here with a large group of friends and we loved the spacious villas, kitchenettes, mini gym, central pool, and large dining/entertainment area that has a brand new pool table. It was the perfect place to ring in the new year together! The owner (Casey) also recommended fantastic local sights and activities during our stay that made our experience truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this hidden gem for couples or groups that want to escape the hustle & bustle and discover Costa Rica like a local!

We (3 women, a newborn baby and 2 dogs) had a last minute reservation to stay at the scarlet villas and enjoyed every moment of it! Off the beaten path, It was dark when we arrived however the entrance was warm and welcoming . Helder instructed us where our room was as it was after hours, and passing through the reception I felt comfortable , relaxed and safe. Our room/ cabina was cozy, clean, and easy to navigate - and next to the pool which was elegantly lit and inviting (a couple of us went for a midnight swim ! ) I having a newborn baby relaxed in my room after a quick shower with ease and enjoyed the calm of our space, delighted that we, doggies and all, were comfortable. We all slept well and in the morning had coffee in our cute outdoor kitchen area, enjoying the sun and our privacy as well as being able to enjoy watching the other guests, man with dogs, play in the pool! Helder is a great host and we will absolutely stay again; highly recommended and enjoyed :))

This place has so much magic. This was my first time to Costa Rica and not knowing much about where I was going I was so pleasantly surprised. The Villas are tucked away off the main highway that runs down the coast. Far enough off the main road that you really feel like you have found your own little jungle retreat, but easy enough to jump back on it and go explore the other little villages that the west coast of CR has to offer. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfy, and the pool was sparkling. We loved waking up and heading out to our private kitchenette to make some breakfast and coffee and sit on our outdoor patio/hammock area and wake up slow to the sounds of the jungle all around us before heading out to enjoy the day. The owner and staff were so sweet and even showed us pictures of the facelift they'd given the place. Quite the upgrade. They built some really amazing common spaces and work areas that make it feel like your office should probably always be this here ;)

Cute little town center too, with some great restaurants and a little market less than 5 mins away. They are also building more shops and restaurants in the area, so Ojochal is poised to be even more of a sweet refuge in the years to come.

Cant wait to come back and reconnect with this peaceful place again soon.

Accommodation is above expectation and the grounds and pool are well appointed. Perfect for a relaxing stay.
Make sure you bring some breakfast items, in a cooler, for the next the morning, kitchen is well stocked with equipment, so it is easy to make your own breakfast.

We stayed at the scarlet villas for a much-needed vacation in the beautiful jungle of Costa Rica. The villas are located in a gorgeous part of the southwestern coast that is filled with beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and green hillsides. The villas themselves are just as stunning as the surroundings, bringing nature into our stay with beautiful indoor/outdoor spaces. The villas are situated around a beautiful pool with easy access for everyone. The whole property blends into the jungle and makes you feel cradled by nature. The staff was beyond wonderful, including the owner, Casey, who left personal touches for us everywhere we looked. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and all unique from one another with outdoor kitchens (first time I have ever seen this!). The common lounge area and gym were also wonderful amenities. You have to go see for yourself :)

Our stay in The Scarlet Villas was perfect and exactly what we hoped for, the resort was well located, clean, well stocked and maintained by a very friendly and helpful team.
The outdoor kitchen was a highlight for me and I enjoyed cooking while listening to the sounds of the surrounding jungle. We'll be back to spend more time in the area and will definitely stay at the villas again!
