Booked this when the more popular amanohashidate hotel was full and some others nicer ones are much more expensive. Onsen are decent , Japanese style room are dated still using keys while upper floor are using keycard. Kaiseki meal are a big disappointment, the beef are super tough and there isn’t any single item that make you at least say not bad. Breakfast are buffet style, at least the selection are decent enough to have a full breakfast. Room wall are quite thin and the door does seal noise well . I can heard all the talking and shouting when a group of family walk past. The middle age front desk man who handle my checkin was not friendly and don’t answer my query room facing and just say full without checking . I check- in pretty early around 4ish and the carpark are quite empty . Car park was full and with 2 tour bus coming late evening. Thumb down for me for this hotel and you are better off staying somewhere unless you like those big busy hotel or speak Japanese.

My wife and I visited this hotel for their lunch, which was advertised as "Sweet buffet lunch." At first I wasn't very keen about having lunch there. In fact I was a little bit worried because I'd expected there would mostly be sweets like, cakes, chocolates or stuff like that. I was partly right. There were certainly a lot of sweets, about 20 or more different kinds of them. However, it turned out there were also regular food, like curry&rice, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Their curry&rice and pasta were exceptionally good. I was very happy to have had lunch there after all.

We stayed in this hotel as a base to the surrounding areas where we only need to travel by car in less than 2 hours which is much more convenient than using Kyoto as a base. The hotel is not a deluxe 5 stars but with everything you need, clean and tidy. But if you do not travel by car then the location is very inconvenient as there is basically nothing in the surrounding and the nearest restaurant takes 15 mins drive from the hotel...

This is a resort with facilities such as swimming pool, hot springs, souvenir shop and green houses with strawberries etc. It is in an area where nothing is nearby. The lobby and hot springs are nice. Rooms are big with sea views, but the décor of the rooms are very old fashioned. Carpet and bathrooms are dated. Some renovations are required to upkeep the standard. We note that the sun lounge chairs at the swimming pool are rented at a charge. This is not common for a hotel not providing these basic amenities for free. I think we may find a better choice when we visit next time.
