Second time at this Hotel, clean and friendly not fancy but I am here for the sun, beach and the quiet. Family run and they are the best, will accommodate you if possible always ready to help. Common kitchen well stocked with utensils and fridges, beer is on the honour system from the fridge. great little community outside of Canoa...

I live in Uruguay, a beautiful place. Ecuador is also beautiful, and is the most alive place I've ever visited -- animals, people, insects, fish; everything is bustling about. Sundown is a charming venue that offers Spanish lessons (I'm a lazy student but I still learned much). If I return to Canoa I'll plan to stay here. I've been here...

I have been meaning to write a review, for the most friendly family hotel I have ever stayed at. We (me, my wife and two small daughters) stayed at Sundown for around 3 months (beginning May to end of July 2015) and we loved it. It takes a day or two to adjust, but when you get to know Juan...

We spent one month in Sundown and also took the Spanish classes. The whole staff is extremely nice and welcoming. When we had to leave we felt like leaving home again. In addition to the fantastic staff we loved the (almost private) beach, the rooms, the communal areas, other guests, our Spanish teacher Luis, the hammocks, the ping pong etc....

Like many others, we found leaving the Sundown a challenge, staying a week longer than planned. The location, about 30 minutes walk from town, was perfect as we felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. The Spanish classes were great, and good surfing was possible practically all day, right outside our door. The shared kitchen facilities were excellent,...

Do their best to make you feel at home. - Ping pong table, hammocks, BBQ, kitchen - rooms...

We were supposed to stay here for 4 weeks but ended up staying more than 5. The family that run the place are lovely and there is a nice friendly feel to the place. If they are celebrating something then everyone is invited to join in, which happened a few times during our stay. The kitchen has pretty much what...

No TV no radio but WI-FI is there for checking in with family back home. Spanish lessons are offered. Small hotel with wonderful hosts, Juan Carlos and Maria, your hosts, could not be more helpful, any needs you have or help with travel arrangements they can help you with. Breakfast and lunch are available Monday thru Friday, $4.00 each, breakfast...

We came for one week's intensive Spanish lessons and felt so at home we stayed for three weeks (it took us three attempts to leave - sorry Max!) and we wish it could have been longer. The communal kitchen and games area really lends itself to the feel of an extended family (minus the arguments!). The recently installed barbecue helps...

This quiet gem has many great attributes but the most out standing would be the service. Juan Carlos and Mary Elena have got it going on! I have worked in five diamond hotels in Canada and New Zealand and have never come across such genuine hospitality! These folks are the real deal, whether is was the immediate beer offerings when...
