Lovely old Victorian hotel, with large rooms, sea views, secure parking if you get there before 9pm and a good continental breakfast. Clean and good value. They have added an extension sympathetically adding lift and DDA access to most floors. We were delayed by The Shuttle and they left us the access code and key in our room. Some command of "Franglais" was required to arrange this! We actually travelled in August 2019.
Nice place to visit on the way home to belgium. Small port with cliffs and a nice view from the hotel on the surroundings. Oldfashioned hotel but very clean and nice personnel. Due to corona there was no breakfast buffet. But we were served very well at the table😊
Best stay, Best view. The hotel has 17 parking places, we manage to found one. Close to port and we visit Trésors on foot. Room was without A/C but was ok. Great value for money. Personnel was very helpful.
One night stay - plenty early enough to get a car parking space! Reception was not manned - you ring a bell and have to wait for the lady to appear - after several minutes - from a different part of the hotel. Room was basic even though it had been refurbished - you have to put the kettle on the floor to plug it in, there is no milk for the coffee or tea. Bathroom has been refitted but shower tiles quite slippery and just sachets for shampoo/shower gel - like Campaniles from 20 years ago. Cheap nasty towels too. Lots of rules about keeping quiet (pets, tv etc) after 9pm but it is the fact that everywhere has wooden floors that makes the most noise - above, corridor and stairs. So not the boutique/quirky hotel we were expecting. On the plus side location is good - a few mins walk to row of restaurants and the sea front …
We really like staying at this hotel on the way home from our holiday near Bordeaux. The rooms are French as you would expect and all different but comfortable. Most things work well but attention to detail would be good. ie curtain rails/curtain fitted properly, waste bins not broken etc. The new lift is EXCELLENT what a difference it makes. Car parking is limited but public parking is not too bad. We will be going back, I expect several times.
