My wife and I called in here for lunch. We had previously called in a couple of weeks earlier for coffee. That's all we bought that evening but the lady behind the bar still appeared grateful for our custom and was pleasant throughout. Because of the enjoyable coffee and service, and because we liked the look of the menu, we...

We just stayed the one night. Room 2 has a double bed with a mattress that could do with a new one but the room was OK. Bathroom small and cramped shower. Breakfast was basic but fine, no trimmings and laid out night before. Beer was good, evening snack fine but pricey. The room has a bright green emergency light...

First visit to this pub and we received a very warm welcome. The pub has a really nice relaxed atmosphere with a gorgeous open fire and pleasant background music. the staff are friendly and efficient and the food was amazing. Will definitely be paying another visit in the not too distant future.

Must confess to being a little worried when we arrived as at 8pm on a Saturday night there was only one other person in the whole restaurant. However these fears one soon put to rest, with a friendly greeting and a great looking menu. The starters were very nice but the main course was even better, my rib eye steak...

Just had another great meal at the Black Bull. Lovely atmosphere and good dining. Quiet and relaxing. Just what is needed at the end of the day. Attentive and welcoming staff. Best place to eat out locally,

Where to start? The service was amazing and friendly. Plus it's not often they compliment you on your well behaved baby. My friend and I did the set three course dinner. Just fantastic!!! But dessert was heavenly; we had the toffee pudding. I can't wait to take my husband

I stayed here for 2 weeks in January. 1st week I was put in room 5. This has to have the coldest shower room in the country. It was a cold week as it's winter. I arrived early and the young lady checked me in. Rooms are basic but very cold. The 2nd week I was in room 1. Massive...

Always one to try a new place to stay which is not a big chain. Warm welcome and the restaurant and bar looked nice - good menu but food not tasted. Room was on the cold side but there was a heater and when I asked an extra duvet was provided. Room was clean and really quiet. A bit basic...

We arrived and we shown to our table. It was a menu we had already chosen so just had to order our drinks. Starter arrived after our drinks and was delicious, main course followed but not rushed, again excellent except my roast potatoes were too hard so swapped with one of our party for their mash. Was asked if we...

Was passing and decided to drop in for lunch. We saw that there was a Christmas menu and opted for "2 for 1 Lunchtime Christmas Menu". We fully expected to be able to have two meals for the price of one as per the menu but were told this was not the case. My wife had the Roast Turkey and...
