Staff were great from the minute I arrived until the moment I left Beer and food first class Room was on the tight side with the wardrobe, ..but it needed to go somewhere I guess in general the room could be spruced up a little and have an extra socket or two added but it was clean and comfy and...

A warm fire and a warm welcome on a chilly February at this character filled hotel. We had a total of 7 rooms booked for our family who were attending a wedding near by. The rooms were large and comfortable. The layout of the building is a bit higgledy piggledy but this is an historic building, not a purpose built...

Stayed here en route to meeting. Hotel has old world charm and the potential to be a really desirable venue. As a place to eat and drink it is absolutely fine, if you are travelling with work to do there are few things to bear in mind. Firstly book a table in the restaurant bar, there are few other options...

We enjoyed out few nights stay here and thought it had improved since our last visit. Spacious rooms, and comfortable. Being dog friendly is a bonus. Could maybe upgrade decor to make it a bit more welcoming but aside from that, good value, and friendly.

This is a great village hotel. It's oak beams & wooden floors go to create a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly & welcoming & nothing was too much. The room I had was clean airy & full of character. There was a large roll top bath which was great after a long day. There was also a shower if...

The recently refurbished bar area greatly improves the atmosphere of the Lion. It's old world charm coupled with great food makes it "go to" venue. As well as great food the beer is good too! I would like to see more variety on the food menu, and that's my only gripe.

We were travelling back from London to Lincoln and drove into Buckden for Sunday lunch. The Lion was the first place we parked near to so decided to give it a try. We nearly gave it a miss as the smashed kitchen windows did not give a good first impression. We were greeted by young waiting staff who were friendly...

We stayed here at the end of December for one night. We managed to get a family room and our two daughters slept on the sofa bed , which was perfectly adequate for them. The room was a good size and we had plenty of space. The only thing I would comment on is that the room/ensuite we had looked...

We spent New Years Eve at The Lion - and it turned out to be a memorable evening - for all the right reasons. There was a brilliant party atmosphere - promoted by the excellent staff who couldn't do enough to make everyone feel special. The food was delicious - mini portions of hot and cold savoury and sweet food...

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, which I have passed on to all the staff. We are delighted that you had a good time New Years Eve at The Lion, I must admit that we were all a little anxious with the new format this year, including a decision to erect a marquee, so really do appreciate...
