An easy drive from Diani up onto the escarpment through the interesting regional capital Kwale followed by a 2 hr game drive in the Shimba Hills Forest Park arriving at the lodge shortly after 6.00pm. You cannot see the lodge from the drop off point and we were almost literally blown away when we entered the lobby. Lovely welcome with... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we went for lunch there. It was incredible! The restaurant looked over a waterhole. Whilst eating a very delicious lunch we saw fish eagles swooping, monkeys leaping and monitor lizards swimming, not to mention the red squirrels scurrying! The staff were super friendly and professional. I would highly recommend the Lodge to stay... More

Shimba Hills Lodge provides and excellent alternative for visitors to the Kenyan coast to do some very enjoyable game and bird watching. The Lodge has a superb location on a waterhole with much resident wildlife including two fish eagles. We had excellent evening and morning game drives seeing plenty, both large (elephants) and small (turtles). The food was excellent, the... More

A wooden tree top walkway leads directly from the lodge into the forest. On the platform at the end you may want to sit down, have drink and enjoy nature at a place where nothing can disturb the peace and tranquillity. Staying at the Shimba Hills Lodge offers you the perfect environment to find peace of mind, to feel the "Breath of Life"- especially at dusk when the voices of the rainforest wake up to perform their nocturnal concert!
