#2 of 9 hotels in Ainsa
Travellers' Choice
Situated in the modern and commercial area of the medieval town of Aínsa, surrounded by the Huescan Pyrenees mountain range, the hotel lies next to the River Ara, an ideal starting point for numerous activities. The hotel offers cosy and ample rooms with free Wi-Fi, and a restaurant, a cafe and a bar for guests to relax in after a day out exploring the great outdoors. Covered motorbike parking is also available on site. Ainsa is an attractive historical town with interesting monuments from remaining parts of the 11th century defensive wall to the 16th century castle. In addition, there is a well-preserved town square and all with impressive mountain peaks as the backdrop. A little further a field you will find the Ordesa National Park, made up of 4 valleys and the Sierra Guara and Posets-Maladeta Nature Reserves. Hotel Sánchez 3 star

We chose this hotel primarily for the fact that it had secure parking, but it turned out to be a good all round choice. It has an excellent quiet guests lounge with a balcony for sunnier months. It also has two one site restaurants, one a formal restaurant and one a bar cafeteria. We ate in both, and whilst the formal one was not great (maybe we just chose badly) the bar / cafeteria was great for either a light meal or just a drink.

I stayed at Hotel Sanchez for a few days prior to attending a conference in Barcelona. I liked it so much that I came back after the conference for an extra two days. The hotel has a great set up for mountain bikers with secure bike storage and cleaning facilities, and is right at the start of some of the best trails in the Zona Zero area. The half-board is great value and the food is local and excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Aínsa is a beautiful town. I was there in December and coming from the UK it was great to experience warm sunny days with several hours extra daylight. The Zona Zero trails are exceptional. Similar to the reclaimed trails of Finale Ligure, but I would argue that they take you further into nature than the Finale trails. There is a good bike mechanic, who I think is also one of the main train builders, working in InterSport next door to the hotel. In summary, I loved Aínsa and I really enjoyed my experience at Hotel Sanchez. I recommend it to all mountain bikers. I hope to come back next December. Andy

This hotel has been recently updates and includes a wide variety of room types and prices. The views of the Rios Ara & Cinco are exceptional, and the hotel is located in the middle of the town. You can walk up to the historic town in about 5 minutes. The hotel offers ample parking and the staff are multilingual and helpful. Do not miss an opportunity to eat in the restaurant! We were blown away by the quality of the food at such a value. It is a three-course fine dining experience at around 17e per person.

Stayed here for one night on a motorbike tour of Spain. It was one of our favourites. Perfectly located with a nice walk to the old part of town. Breakfast was superb, probably the best we had on our tour. Secure parking easily accessible. The check in receptionist was extremely helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again.

Stayed one night whilst driving through the Pyrenees. Modern hotel with very comfortable rooms in this attractive old town with a lovely old town on the hill. We were upgraded to a suite due to their having reduced room rates below the amount I been quoted when I booked in November last year. Breakfast adequate, not exciting. Free private car park at the back was a bonus. Good value for money.
