We had an excellent dinner for 12 last October and returned again this week for a business dinner for 7 people. Mike is the Oberkellner and with his team provided excellent service. He assembled a three-course meal with wine pairings that pleased everyone. Ask him to arrange your dinner and you won't be disappointed. He is an accommodating, enthusiastic and knowledgeable professional.

We stayed one week from 06-13AUG2016, with my wife's whole family (my parents-in-law and the family of my brother-in-law). Accommodation was terrific - we occupied the Panorama Suite (P1) and the name is really appropriate: A semi-circle glass front looking out over Lake Constance! Originally, we planned to eat out maybe every other day but after the first dinner at the hotel, nobody felt we needed to look further. Food & drink were consistently excellent, I ate a different meal every evening ranging from vegetarian to fish to red meat and EVERYTHING was just perfect quality and awesome cooking. And it wasn't just us who felt that way: every evening the restaurant was fully booked, with additional people having to wait for a table... All in all, it was a most relaxing family stay (we have two boys aged 3 and 6), great accommodation, plus service and excellent food at a lovely location right at the shore of Lake Constance.

We did have a poor start as our booking had not been confirmed for our two nights however they let us have a newly refurbished room for one night 100 meters from the hotel which did not have a lake view but was extremely comfortable and well fitted out and we could park our car directly outside. The restaurant was busy but the waiting staff were extremely helpful with lots of advice, the food was well prepared and enjoyable to eat although nothing special in presentation etc. The breakfast choice was superb and again the staff were very efficient and replenished the buffet as and when needed. Fortunately we managed to book our second night at the Hotel Villino near Landau which was a great find, review to follow.

I went to stay for a week with the family at Heinzler's this summer. Great hotel with a personal touch - we felt quite at home. Excellent cuisine made from fresh local produce (try their delicious Hirschragout!). The kitchen is run by the owner himself, a true family business in second generation. Fine selection of regional and international wine. Service was very professional and friendly. The hotel itself is quietly located right at the lakeside, far away from all traffic. This is great, so you don't have to keep an eye on the children all the time. I particularly enjoyed going for a swim early in the quiet morning, before breakfast. We are looking forward to be back next summer!

I do not know what more one could expect. This hotel is big enough to provide necessary services yet seems rather small. We had a very comfortable room on the lake side. Food is excellent, especially the breakfasts. We have stayed there several times over the years and have always been anxious to return. It is always a relaxing place.

Difficult to find. Next to the Bodensee with great views. Inside and outside seating to restaurant. Had the suite, dissappointing view of the Back garden and the roof. Great bathroom with interesting style but bedroom very average-posh ikea. Breakfast is excellent. Shame that tanning and bathing area is so small and across the street! Not great value for money for the suite!

Booked this hotel in January for a weeks stay in August all was confirmed but on arrival the room I had requested was not available, I questioned why they had not e mailed to let me know beforehand but was shrugged off with you have a room so what's the problem, the reception staff Manuel and Michael were extremely helpful the management less so and were condescending to say the least, their hotel was busy so basically except what you've got with a minimal apology. The restaurant food was good as was the service especially Patrick who tried to translate the menu as everything written in this hotel caters only for Germans. Our room was not in the main hotel but an annexe a few minutes walk away, which had neither telephone, mobile reception or wifi...too bad if we were ill or fell down the spiral staircase. We asked if we could have tea in the room but were told we would have to use our mobiles to phone the restaurant to have it delivered? Housekeeping was poor, in the week our bed linen was not changed and we went 3 days without a shower mat. The floor in the room was not swept properly, so we asked the lady for the broom and she watched as we swept. Not what I would expect from this calibre of hotel? Shame as we were recommended to this hotel but I think in the busy season the let things slip.

We returned to Heinzler am See this summer having great memories from our previous stay several years ago. Our expectations were definitely fulfilled. The hotel has 2 wonderful Panorama Suites with amazing 180 degree view to the lake and balcony. The suite is very spacious, and though it comprises 1 room, 4 people can have privacy in it. Clean and well maintained. 2 toilets. Jacuzzi in the bathroom. Generous and tasty breakfast, which we took outdoors. Free Internet. The hotel has a small private bath area on the lake, and just next to it there is the town swimming pool and lake beach facility. Wish we could stay there longer!
