We stayed for 10 days at Poki Poki and it went by too fast! The beautiful tropical garden along the beach is very well maintained by the staff. The luminous wooden bungalows offer a comfortable bed with a good canopy mosquito net. All have a hammock. We take the meals all together in the pleasant common space. The food is good and diverse. Fresh fish, fruits… even some sweet treat as 4 pm snack :) Very cool staff, sometimes some music or games in the evening. Very quite at night! Only the sound of the waves and from the jungle (which is right behind the bungalows). The snorkeling along the beach is not the best, but they offer snorkeling trips to some beautiful places with amazingly beautiful coral in cristal clear water, at a 30 minutes boat ride. Possibility to do a nice jungle tour or a cooking class. And possibility to dive with the nearby Araya resort. We really enjoyed our stay :)

After arriving at Poki Poki we jumped into the water, just to discover that the house reef is totally wrecked by a combination of dynamite and cyanide fishing and anchoring… That made us really sad… The little platform of Poki Poki is rubbing over the corals and destroying the reef a little more… This made us also sad about the eco-part Poki Poki… The night before we spent at Karidiri and the reefs there were and are still spectacular… Not having a healthy reef in front of the door was a huge turn off, since being in the ocean enjoying marine life was the reason to be at the Togeans… If you want to go snorkeling and see something nice you need to book a snorkeling trip… But even there, the Poki Poki boat is anchoring on the reef... I snorkeled around 2 miles around the bay of Poki Poki. There are some signs of recovery. Some soft corals are growing back at some spots and also some new sprouts of finger coral are to be found at some spots, some of which have been damaged again by fishermen anchoring on the reef… The second disappointment was the food. In the reviews the food was described as the best. What was not clear to us was that the food was fully fish based. We do not eat fish because of overfishing reasons. All fish served at poki poki were sourced locally, but all were endangered overfished species in this region… For a resort that says to be eco friendly that was awefull to notice… Also the only alternative offered was omelet. So we ate omelets for lunch, dinner and also mostl breakfasts … for 8 days… Then the Cabin. The first two night we stayed at a Bamboo light… the smalles one. It did not have a sink, which we really missed for the price asked. Also the rat in the mattress was not a nice bonus, making it hard to sleep… We are no big rat fans… The 6 nights in the Villa were fine. It’s not as good as it looks in the pictures, maybe they are taken just after building it and with big flash lights. They room and bathrooms are dark, warm and damp. Mosquito nets, curtains and bed smell moldy. In the villa we had a sink which felt as a huge bonus after the Bamboo light and probably because there were two batts living under our bed, there were no rats running around in our mattress this time. Although one of the mattresses had some holes eaten in it we covered them with mosquito net and nothing seemed to have gone in or out… If they would not have made us pay everything weeks before arrival we would have left after 3 or 4 nights, now we left one day early… The reef being the biggest turn off… Overall we found Poki Poki not worth the rate charged. It’s well overpriced and overrated. It appeared strange to us that the reviews found here were all 5*. We are a back packing family and have slept in bamboo huts before, even in bad ones, but not for this price… Poki Poki reached out to us and said that they were doing their best to improve the points mentioned and that the food we got was not up to their standards.... no refunds were offered though...

If you need a real time-out, Poki Poki is the place to be. I had an amazing time here. Location top, bungalows very clean and comfortable, staff super nice and helpful, amazzzzing food as well. They also offer some great day tours (like jungle trekking, snorkeling), if simply reading and chilling in a hammock is not enough for you 😉 If true disconnection and relaxation together with chilled vibes and great accommodation is your thing, then GO for it!! I truly recommend it!!

We stayed at Poki Poki for 5 unforgettable nights over New Year and had the most amazing time. Villa Palola was perfect, beautifully furnished and the type of place you dream about waking up. The day trips are brilliant and very reasonably priced, the homemade food is delicious and plentiful, beds are comfy, beach is stunning and Nain and the crew are fantastic in every way. You go to the Togian islands to get away from it all and get back to nature and island life - there is no better place than Poki Poki to do just that! Book longer than you think you'll need because you won't want to leave!

We had a very relaxing stay in “Vila Palola” in Pokipoki. The food is delicious, the staff friendly, welcoming and helpful and the surrounding of the hotel is also very beautiful. We have to say thank you to Pak Nain, Ibu Mila, Mas Anto, Mas Uja and all the others!

We had an amazing stay at Poki Poki. From all the resorts that we visited on the Togean, we must admit that the food and staff at Poki Poki was the best! Poki Poki is the perfect spot to chill, relax, enjoy reading a book in a hammock while getting a tan and enjoy the best food of the togean. Our bungalow was clean, small but comfortable. We also enjoyed the mandi shower & didn't care at all that there was no heated water. Contrary to other islands, we had chilly nights at Poki Poki, which actually were very pleasant! Our last night we slept in a tent on a deserted beach, which was an unforgetable and adventurous experience. We made our own fire and grilled some fish and Uja (manager at Poki Poki) helped us with setting up the tent and got us some fresh coconuts ;) The island surrounding is beautiful and the beach is perfect! However the house reef is not that amazing, because the visibility is bad and there is a lot of sea grass. If you want to discover the marine life, we recommend to book a snorkel trip or a scuba dive (they can arrange everything for you). Thank you David & Angie, we hope to visit / see you again!

We originally planned to do some more trips and activities around Bomba but Poki Poki is such a beautiful place that we didn't wanted to leave 😄 The perfect place to calm down, hang around in the hammock all day long, grab a book and relax. The area around is beautiful as well - jungle hikes or snorkeling (reefs are so amazing around Togeans). The Poki Poki family is amazing and everybody of the crew does his or her best to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Food is really good, varied and made with love. Same is the whole resort with its many diy dreamcatcher etc 😍 A place to feel comfy.

My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights at Poki Poki. We felt like home immediately after a very warm welcome. The concept of Poki Poki is amazing. Everyone is getting in touch with each other for example while dinner because there is only one big table. The maximum amount of people are 16 for the cottages. There is also the possibility of sleeping in a tent if no cottage is available. The meals are very tasty especially for fish lovers. They serve lots of traditional dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Water, tea or coffee are available at all time. From Poki Poki you can do lots of guided activities as snorkelling or diving trips with their own boats. There is also a little reef directly in front of the resort and a sunset point where you can watch it. It’s the perfect place for relaxing without any smartphones ringing or loud music. We have already planned to come back to paradise so that’s why we have to give 5 stars!

We spent 6 nights there in August and one month later Poki Poki is still in our mind. David and Angie, with Nain and Mila, have created a place with a lot of good vibes. You can have great snorkelling trips, bird watching at the evening, cooking lessons, or if you prefer you can just chill in the hammocks all the day long. The food is just amazing, the best we have had in our 3 weeks trip in Sulawesi, far away from usual nasi goreng and other Indonesian "classic". It was really nice to have lunches and diners shared with the other guests at the same big table, a good way to meet new friends. We really would like to go back there, we just hope this place will never change!
