I don’t know where to start! Major overhaul of customer service needed. The ladies spoke like washer women! A bit more politeness should be expected.
The carvery was like a microwave meal.
All meat Very hard, nothing tender. Brown cauliflower and yellow mash. Gravy like jelly! Lovely surroundings but hearing all about staff rotaries whilst having dinner was a bit much. Tables very close together my partners chair was knocked every single time the waitress went by. She apologised the first time and then kept doing it. The place has real potential but a bit more attention to detail is required. Shambles very apt name.

Went the Shambles to meet friends for a farewell trip. Phoned weeks in advance before booking to make sure they served gluten free meals. The member of staff who I spoke to assured me there would be meals on the menu. When booking in I again asked re gluten free meals. I was told a few on the specials board were. I told them I was assured there would be actual gluten free meals which was greeted with a frown and 'who told you that'. We were given a red folder with Allergens. 99% of the gluten free boxes were ticked as was one with a question mark! Is that evenough legal? Our friend had to have chicken and bacon salad! He couldn't even have chips!! Please set aside a fryer for allergy sufferers. The food is mediocre at best. My Thai chicken was cold and and pink inside. The menu is stuck in the 70'same. This pub could be amazing as it's postars outside state. I wish I had listened to some of the reviews and not bothered.

Shold have turned around and walked away 😠

We visited with friends for Sunsay lunch. The staff were very welcoming and the (small) restaurant area lovely. The carvery was chosen by two of our party - delicious! The rest of our party chose from the main menu, and all plates were cleared. We will certainly be going back very soon.

Firstly I would like to say what a lovely welcome we received from the staff in the bar upon arrival. It’s such a shame that the accommodation was quite frankly a dump! We stayed in room 1. The bathroom door would not shut never mind lock, there was hair on the walls and in the shower and just had not been cleaned. Dirty bath mat and toilet mat. Half used toilet roll and water still left in the kettle. Large hole in the plaster behind tv. Situated directly above the beer garden that quietened down around 2am. I didn’t get to sleep until 3.30am as had to endure the drunk conversation from the ladies next door that literally went from arguing to having sex within the space of an hour with plenty of cigarette breaks. I know this because the walls are so thin it was like they were in the next bed! And will assume they were going out for a cigarette because of the many times they walked past our door and slammed the main door to the building. Of course there’s no one to complain to in the middle of the night. The worse nights sleep I have ever had. AVOID!

Firstly I would like to say the lady behind the bar was lovely and friendly.
My husband and I stayed here for one night (well tonight) I’m writing this now because there’s no chance I’m sleeping any time soon.
I booked this because we had booked a table at the local Italian.
The rooms are at the back of the building and didn’t realise there’s a kabab shop right underneath us and a pub across the car park it is now nearly 1 o’clock in the morning the music is getting louder, the people are shouting constantly I’m now just waiting for kicking out time for them to come for a kabab can’t wait! Couldn’t be located in a worse place.
I can’t close the windows because it’s a million degrees in here, not that I think it will make much difference with the noise level.
Before getting into bed we noticed the bed was leaning towards the right, once we got into bed my husband was nearly on the floor because the bed was broken.
I’ve stayed in a lot better places for £60.
I wouldn’t stay here again
