We stayed five nights here in early February. Our room was comfortable and warm and the view was beautiful. Rooms have private washers and dryers and there is a drying closet located just outside the room. Staff are friendly and very helpful in organising transport, lift passes etc. The best part about the Setsumon though is its location - close to the lifts, amazing restaurants, the supermarket and the food vans.
Pictures are deceiving. If you are travelling with luggages (as most people are), be prepared to carry those luggages as you enter this place...when you reach your room, there will be more stairs to bring your luggages down to the living quarters. NO daily housekeeping & receptionist/front desk personnel is NOT available 24/7 so if you need toilet paper refill & the like, you'll have to wait after 2 days 😩 the price you pay for this place is NOT commensurate to the service you get. it does not even include breakfast 😫😫😫 unfortunately, there is nothing nice to say about this place.... 😫😭😫😭😫😭
We spent 2 nights here in early may. The reception people very welcoming and helpful. Room was amazing - cozy & fully equipped. Location was very good too. Not too far from the ski lift and the gondola. They allow free rental of dvds from the reception at the Vale. This kept us occupied at the room during rainy days. Note that they do have english channels on tv but limited options available. Special mention to Natasha. Warm, friendly ans Great with children. My kid liked the way she communicated and enjoyed being speaking to her. . It felt very genuine and since. Thanks, Tash.
Very convenient location which makes the trip even more memorable. The Setsumon is also close to all major ski shops and is a short walk to the supermarket to buy food and refreshments. Staff are very friendly and if you need help booking restaurants they can do that as well.
We stayed at the Setsumon for the first time. Our daughters had their own apartment which was connected to our apartment. The apartments are equipped with everything you need including a rice cooker. Everything was beautifully decorated and super clean. The service was very good, too. Both pre holidays and while we were there. The Nisade crew helped us with all our needs. The location of The Setsumon is Fantastic. Both to the posts and to the best restaurants in town it’s just a short walk. The complimentary bus across the street takes you to various points in Hirafu. We hope to be back soon. Thank you The Setsumon.
I booked in advance and took advantage of the discount 6 months earlier. It is expensive where-ever you stay but overall excellent right in the heart of Niseko. Would stay again for sure and thanks to Sonya and Tash for looking after us so well and forwarding our ski bag to the transport Yamato days later for our Osaka airport pick up. Much appreciated.
The penthouse studio we stayed in was clean, nicely designed and well-equipped . The property is also ideally located with easy walking access to good restaurants, a small “supermarket”/pharmacy and shuttles to the ski resorts. Sonya at reception was pleasant and helpful, and we arrived one evening to find that she had left a thoughtfully nice surprise - some scrumptious cake for the birthday I was celebrating that day in Niseko. The actual room we got was a lot smaller than what was in the pictures. Moreover, Considering how well equipped the place was, the lack of a washlet was also kind of surprising for high-end accommodation in Japan. The apartment we got was also showing some signs of age in the form of (slightly) misaligned kitchen cabinet doors, a somewhat wobbly table, etc. The negatives notwithstanding, we had a really nice time here. …
Fantastic accommodation with friendly staff and facilities, great location to ski area and restaurants at Hirafu. It also provides the free transport from welcome centre to hotel. Highly recommended to all tourists.
We just stayed here for 10 nights and had a fantastic stay. The rooms are big and great quality. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, the beds are super comfortable and the location is really handy. I would have given this place a 5 if they had some form of shuttle service to get you to the base of the mountain. It’s only a 6-7 minute walk but in ski boots with skis up hill everyday to be honest is hard work and I like to be on the hill by firsts lifts everyday so that for me was a big issue. SONYA our concierge was amazing!! She was so friendly and helpful and made the stay extra pleasant!!! Sort out a shuttle service and I’ll book again for sure!
Our family booked the 1 Bedroom Alpine Deluxe Apartment for 4 days in a recent ski trip. The serviced apartment is beautiful, clean, comfortable, comes with full kitchen, spacious living/dining room and within 3 mins walking distance to the Family ski lift. This room can accommodate 5 adults comfortably and they provided tatami besides the Queen bed in the master room. Restaurants and shops are all around. They provide assistance for airport transfers, bookings for ski lessons, ski gears rental (that is just next door), restaurants booking and free transfer from Hirafu Welcome Centre (that is just a short walk up the slope but just not conducive to drag our luggage in the snow). It is a little pricey compared to others around them but the overall experience is worth it. After all, it is our first time in Hokkaido and we wanted a memorable visit.…
