Do not recommend anyone to stay here - we were overcharged erroneously. Also the hotel is quite bad, more like a hostel but with hotel price. Also gave the below review to hotel (in person and over email) but they don’t even bother responding to me - they obviously don’t care about customer service or guests’ stay. Objectively, the hotel looks quite decent when we booked it on hotels.com but it was quite a terrible stay. Cons: - Do not book any ski services through the link the hotel provides. Hotel tried to charge us for ski lift passes which we didn’t know were booked. We made an enquiry for the lift passes but there was no payment page so we had assumed it’s not confirmed and separately booked it with the vendor. We received no emails which clearly said we had successfully booked and the at payment was due at the hotel. The emails on this service that the hotel sent were bundled up with other services which we had indeed paid for and bought. The hotel made the entire service very confusing and had led us to believe nothing was due and in the end they did not ask for our permission and charged me from the credit card used for security deposit for the room - something completely unrelated. - We were given a room that was already occupied at check in and was horrified to find out when we opened the door that it was already occupied. Check in process took 30 minutes total as a result, which is excessively long and slow and as a result we had missed the hotel shuttle bus to the city centre when we had told the staff we must make the bus in order to make our dinner booking - - We were given misleading information a few weeks prior to our arrival (by James, the manager, over email) on how it would be very easy to call a taxi when we arrived at Hirafu welcome centre if we missed the hotel shuttle bus. The manager, James, clearly told me this over email with the knowledge I’m arriving on Christmas Eve. When we arrived at the welcome centre, we were told all taxis are booked out for the Christmas period. This was something the hotel could have easily known / solved by suggesting we pre book a taxi in advance. - Despite the hotel knowing it’s a peak season (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day), the hotel’s shuttle bus schedule is extremely impractical and it runs for only once an hour in the evening. It’s impossible to order a taxi during this period and to walk because it’s so cold but most people’s dinner reservations are either at 6 or 630 or 8/830. The shuttle bus times means it’s impractical to finish skiing and catch the shuttle bus and to come back to hotel, shower, change and catch next shuttle bus without leaving the ski resort 3 hours prior even though it’s only 5 minutes away by drive. I find it speechless why the hotel would only have one bus operating when it has 3 shuttle buses at its disposal. - - The night receptionist girl (she must be on a working holiday) and the staff generally (including the reservations manager, James) are all very unhelpful, rude and as though they did not want to be there. Do not rely on them for any information or assistance. If you email them in advance of your stay, chances are only half your emails will be responded to. I believe they are very short staffed and the ones who are there are not well trained - The beds and pillow are terrible and the walls are paper thin - you can hear the conversations being had in the rooms next to you and if you’re in the hallway you can hear the sounds inside the rooms. We did not get any sleep. Pros - breakfast is not bad…
Great hotel. One of the most spacious rooms we’ve had in Japan, (although it was a superior room). Mattress is firm, but in our experience not as firm as mattresses can be in Japan. Breakfasts really set you up for the day. Only downside was that the restaurant opened the evening we left. About a 10 minute walk into Niseko - easily done in anything other than ski boots. Shuttle bus service works well and also good with advice about next day’s conditions and where to ski. The staff are universally lovely and helpful. Certainly accommodated our DIY holiday with all its last minute changes and huge amount of luggage we were lugging around. Also good value for very comfortable accommodation.
Should have been staying here but due to the Covid pandemic we could not travel, out of all the hotels we were supposed to be staying at on our trip to Japan “Always Niseko” had the most inflexible booking terms! Other tours and hotels either moved our booking or offed refunds. No refund, even when they emailed us to inform us that half the facilities we closed at the hotel and they had changed our room, look elsewhere in Niseko for a more friendly and welcoming establishment
Everyone was super caring to ensure our stay was the best it could be. Breakfast was yummy, Yuki was always available to take us to the slopes, and when my partner fractured his foot, everyone made sure we had all we needed. We felt super cared for!
I liked the location, the shuttle, the ski storage room, the breakfast buffet in general, the restaurant services in the evening, knowledgeable staff, the shower and toilet in the room. The coffee in the breakfast buffet was quite bad, I resorted to my own instant coffee. The smallness of the standard room was irritating, there was no place to store a hard suitcase, no table and proper chairs. When the only place where you can sit is your bed, it would be really nice to have a cover for the bed for daytime, but the hotel room does not have any. The mattress was too hard to sleep comfortably on the side and the duvet was way too warm. I asked the staff if I could have a thinner blanket instead of the duvet, but none was available.
We stayed for 10 nights while snowboarding in the area. Friendly and helpful staff through front desk, kitchen and shuttle busses! Awesome to get a full buffet breakfast each day. Free shuttle bus that runs regularly. Nice tidy room. Snowboard/ski storage by the main door. Board/ski tuning service by Rhythm in house. Drop off your kit after riding and pick it up in the morning. Awesome view of Yotei from our window. Easy walking distance to town if you miss the last bus, roughly 10 minutes to/from town. Could have done with more washing machines but not a major.
Hotel is about a mile outside of Hirafu village. Easy to walk in for dinner in the evening but too far in ski boots and carrying skis. The free shuttle bus to the slopes every half hour was excellent and really enhanced our stay. Very good breakfast and plenty of storage for skis and boots.
I recently stayed at Always Niseko with my partner for 10 nights. This hotel well and truly met all of our expectations. The bus service to the gondola was absolutely worth every cent to stay in this location and to avoid having to lug our ski gear up the hill to the lifts everyday. Buses were on time to the minute every day and we were even able to flag our driver down one night between stops as we were running late and would have missed the bus. All drivers were extremely helpful and friendly. We would purely stay at this hotel again to have the bus service available. Lovely clean and modern hotel with a great restaurant down stairs. Breakfast was lovely every morning but the dinner menu could use a few more options to mix it up. Our room was a great set up with plenty of storage to empty our suitcases and store cases out the way under the bed. Only downfall was the bed was quite hard and pillows were very flat and hard. Beautiful clean bathroom with plenty of room and storage. Handy tip: We hired our ski gear from Rhythm, great customer service and they also offered to drive us back to our hotel with our ski's once we picked them up. At the end of the trip we could return them to the Rhythm store at the hotel which was very convenient. Thanks again Always Niseko we will definitely be back oneday!! :) …
Rooms are clean, and spacious There's a board/boots room for your equipment, with a Rhythm outpost near the entrance (didn't know when we booked), which makes rentals a breeze if you coordinate through them. Shuttle runs every half hour. If you need to go farther than main niseko (Annupuri, Hanazono, Rutsusu), I would definitely consider a car rental. Great stay overall. Highly recommend. The staff is also multi-national and very helpful.
I rent 3 rooms, 412 , 423 , 414. Spend 5 days at the above hotel . It's quite new and we initially expected a happy stay over there. House keeper didn't exchange towels , didn't vacuum the floor , nor even collect the garbage. Trying to reflect this problem to hotel manager , he explained as follow , my fd didn't put towels on the floor , so they didn't exchange it. We explain to him that we felt that it's unpleasant to leave the towels at floor , instead we left them at basin. Secondly we asked him why nobody vacuum the floor as there is photo chips on the floor , he said they only use a stick roll to roll it if necessary. I asked what about nobody collect the garbage ? He then asked me to low my voice or he would kick me out from the hotel. I hv to emphasis that I never use any foul language. I ask him I already paid the hotel , does he has any jurisdiction to kick me out ? He said he is not deaf. He never apologize for the hotel mistake , nor for his rude behavior. Even under the epidemic crisis now , the hotel provide such a poor hygiene measurement. Totally unacceptable. For those who wanna rent any property under NISADE, pls think twice.…
