Our family of 5 were given 2 rooms with a common 2nd door that kept the heat in and noise and smell of crab (from kanon crab restaurant on the ground floor) out. The kids' room had sleeping area in the attic and a living/ dining area downstairs. Plenty of space for active teenagers. 2 clothes bars and plenty of...

Stayed for close to 3 weeks in January/February 2016. Excellent location, clean, tidy, very warm, practical facilities. It's not the ritz, but if you're in Niseko for the snow, it ticks most boxes. Would 100% stay again. Morio is a legend! Great, spacious drying room, excellent, big breakfasts. The restaurant at night is a semi pricey crab restaurant, so self...

our host morio was absolutely fantastic. he was super helpful and offered to drive us in the morning to the lifts in the grand hirafu area. you can't beat this place for value for money. it's not fancy but amenities are more than adequate for what the rate we paid. we had a room for four people which were bunk...

The pension side of this accommodation has more of a hostel feel than a bed and breakfast, but still amply covered the bare necessities. The biggest asset of this accommodation is the host Morio. His english is quite good and he is incredibly helpful with booking bus transfers, organising lift tickets and giving you lifts to the gondola when he...

We had reasonable expectations for $320 a night but we're bitterly disappointed. Pretty sure we were In a Backpacker room. Anyway the hosts were nice, friendly and helpful until we said we were leaving when they got a bit nasty. Slamming doors and saying things like good riddence. That was a shame...mismatched expectations didn't need that attitude. The room had...

I booked the quad room. I looked at the web site, viewed the rooms and read the reviews on trip adviser. The room we were placed in was rediculously small, There is literally no room for our bags or to unpack any of our clothes. Our beds are children's bunk beds with a thin foam mattress approximately 25mm thick. This...

We had a wonderful 4 nights at Pension Kanon. We enjoyed the Japanese style bedding. Our room was warm and comfortable and there was plenty of space to dry our clothes after a day up the mountain. Location is key.. 10-15 minute walk to the Hirafu Gondola and close to all the bars and restaurants yet peaceful and quiet. Morio...

Stayed at Pension Kanon for a week Feb. 2014. We enjoyed our stay and the small pension was clean and comfortable. It was a very good location close to the main intersection and very easy to walk to various locations in Hirafu. The breakfast was quite good and our room was very good for the price we paid especially compared...

This is the third time I've stayed with Morio-san at Kanon. His service as a host is top-level, from his communication through to taking care of all of your needs during your stay. The location of the pension is perfect, in the midst of everything you need and only a five minute walk to get you on the first lift....

My father and I stayed at this pension in January and were very happy with our choice. Kanon has two available accommodations: a backpackers lodge and a pension. We stayed in the pension. For the price this was an excellent value for everything we needed. Location was great. Centrally located in the Hirafu village close to restaurants, convenience stores, and...

“We had a room with two beds and it was quite big. Worked for us without issue. Note the bathrooms and showers are shared. We didn't find this to be an issue, however we knew this going in and didn't want to spend big money on rooms.”

“Ask for a room away from the road, it can get noisy at night when people are coming home from late night dinner & drinks. The upstairs rooms are near the showers/baths but the toilets are downstairs so ask for a downstairs room if you need the toilets more!”
