Diss By Verve is a recently refurbished 17th Century coaching inn, which has retained many of its original features including the hand carved staircase and the original hand painted sundial. The bar boasts two magnificent fireplaces which are reputedly the largest in East Anglia. The Inn has two function rooms for conferences, celebrations and weddings. Dine in our 5 Star Restaurant with extensive menu choices using only the best of local fresh produce cooked to order. Alternatively our lounge and Public Bar offer a menu with a more informal surrounding, with beautiful real log fires.

Great service, food and beer. Fully recommend, amazing historic building with great detail all around. Gardens are full of colour, and hotel rooms have so much history and are really well done. Staff were amazing throughout.

Had a one night stay at the Historic Inn with family members and our Pet Dog - We we’re visiting Friends - needed a place near Diss x We couldn’t have ask for better- The staff were so accommodating and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble - even helping find postcodes for our next destination! The beds were so comfortable and the food was delicious 😋 x x Great value for money - will definitely stay again Thank you

Fed up staying here. Stayed a few times 1 - In winter heating keeps breaking down…I argued for a new room and they want to charge more! 2 - Bar is lifeless…if you stay, go to crossways across the road where the food and atmosphere is better 3 - staff really have no idea how to run a hotel…no consideration for guests 4 - weeding need to be done..no care for their surroundings..weeding out the front would take 1 hr or less! 5 - breakfast starts at 8, no good for business travellers 6 - hotel stinks of fat when you enter…I guess that deep fried slop is for dinner…never tried the food as the smell is enough to put me off! 7 - such potential..lost to hopeless individuals who are inept at running a basic b&b let alone a hotel!

was very upset when we asked to go in restaurant for a booked meal. to be told dogs are not allowed in restaurants. i had to remind them my dog was a guide dog and the law states we allowed in. but still we ended in small room on our own away from the general public. it was to far for myself to get the food. my husband had to fetch my roast. by time he got back through bar and restaurant the food was cold. the young waitress was trying her best but was put under pressure of having a family who were disappointed. this was the sunday of the national alert to everyone text phone. very disappointed with feeling like poor peasants people

Slight problem with bathroom created by the previous resident but swiftly resolved giving us an upgraded room, which was lovely. Bathroom a bit tired but it’s hard to keep them perfect. Great cooked breakfast with good quality meats and great scrambled eggs. One of the best afternoon teas we’ve had, trumping those of some high end hotels.

We stayed in a courtyard room which was very comfortable. There was a patio area with table and chairs outside. This was really nice as the April weather was quite warm. The staff were really nice. The restaurant was very nice and we ate from the extensive menu. The food was lovely.

My brother & I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. There is a lack of decent accommodation in this area. Our stay got off to a bad start when I opened my door to my courtyard room to find that it has not been cleaned. The bathroom mat had been left in the waste paper bin and I decided not to investigate why. On the second night my brother's bed collapsed beneath him. He is not remotely obese. This was in the King Charles II bedroom in the main building. There then followed a series of events worthy of Fawlty Towers. When he went to reception to report it, there was a drunken guest complaining that the bar was closed; another guest had mislaid his room key and the man on reception couldn't find a spare; there was also a foul mouthed telephone call between the receptionist and his boss concerning Spanish guests who had been staying for 18 days without paying. Eventually my brother was moved to another room. the receptionist opened the door to find it was already occupied. Another room was found, this time empty. However the following night when he used his key to access this room at about 10.00 this room was now occupied by a family. My brother's belongings had been moved without his prior knowledge. He was now placed in the Sundial room, his third room in 3 days. Quite apart from the chaotic management, there are other issues. The beds are very uncomfortable with soft mattresses which need replacing. The breakfast is very poor, the same choice of 2 cereals every morning, rationed toast, no fruit on offer. My brother got a refund of one night's cost. Ludicrously the hotel sent me a review form saying they hope to see us again! Bail Fawlty is alive and well and living in Scole.

Had not visited the Scole Inn for approximately 5 years due to the totally awful food and decor . The new owners are changing the black and purple decor bit by bit and the 500 year old pub will hopefully be restored some extent in time . Food was rather good ... my partner had pork belly .. the crackling was the best we have had outside a private home ! I had crispy beef noodles .. completely delicious ! If you have had bad experience in the past , try again .

Went for a meal for a special occasion with family, the hotel is really lovely but looks can be deceiving. The restaurant was freezing cold and had to wait nearly an hour for our starters and when we got them majority of them were cold, then we had to wait at least another hour for our mains( bearing in mind we were the only one in there). Definitely would not recommend and definitely will not be going back as this spoilt our special occasion

We stayed in the hotel on 18 Feb and it was awful. There was mould everywhere in the bathroom, rizzla packets left on the floor so the room hadn’t been cleaned properly and to top it off, the door didn’t fit the frame so we might aswell have been staying outside it was so cold. Also they advertise the rooms in the main building but put us in the rooms out the back in the car park, basically a barn. Stayed in many hotels in my time and this was by far the worst.
